Greenville Splash Masters

We had a fantastic turnout for the Speedo USMS e-Postal One Hour Swim at Westside. The following swimmers conquered the hour fitness challenge in stunning fashion:

Ruth Albright, Barbara Barber, Amy Browning, Allan Byer, John Decker, John Devlin, Fran Durovchic, Kacky Elliott, Dave Hall, Daniel Hynum, Tom Johnson, Lee Mathis, Diego Mezzogori, Carolyn Moore, Dan O'Connell, Casey Oliver, Kristi Panayotoff, Melissa Patterson, Klaus Pless, Judi Rich, Leslie Scott, Allyson Seitzer, Mark Sharp, Tyler Sites, Alvero Velez, Jose Villa

Splashing Accomplishments:

We had 8 swimmers compete at the South Carolina Short Course Yards Championships. Carolyn Moore competed in fine fashion and won a high point award. Kacky Elliott won three first place finishes. Mark Kothe won 6 first place finishes. Judi Rich had stellar sprint races and had a first place finish in the 200 back. Tyler Sites dropped his times all ten events that he swam. Molly Willingham was our famous heat one swimmer but still ended up with five firsts. Claire Walker rocked the sprints and then challenged herself to finish a 200 fly as the last event!

And on the same weekend we had 3 swimmers compete at the Auburn Invitational: Wesley Sawyer came out of a meet hiatus and had some awesome times in his favorite distance events. Bob McAdam had amazing times in his signature events. And Kristi Panaytoff came home with the high point hardware!

Tyler Sites is our swimmer of the month! Tyler is fearless when it comes to swim workouts and meets. He will sign up and swim anything. For example at the recent meet in Myrtle Beach he swam the 400 IM, 200 Breast and 200 Fly all on the same day along with some other events and a relay. Most swimmers barely want to attempt one of those events. Tyler loves swim meets, competing, and taking on new challenges. Once Tyler dives into a race or even a practice, his competitive nature takes over and he works hard to achieve his best times. Tyler owes his love of swimming and the reason he still swims today to Mike Clesner; his friend first,swim coach second. Tyler is an amazing team player and will swim any stroke in any relay that is asked of him. He loves to workout and has an awesome attendance record. He is a joy to coach and he is loved by all his teammates. We also appreciate the volunteer work Tyler does for Greenville Splash and our adult learn to swim program.

Adult Learn to Swim Month.

Free lessons to interested adults April 5th, 12th, 19th, 26h and May 3rd and 10th at Westside. Help us spread the word. Spots are almost filled up. Sign up by calling Westside 864-679-7946

We are looking for swimmers that want to volunteer to teach. Let Leslie know if you are interested.

New workouts at Caine Halter

Thursday 6-7 am, Friday 12-1 pm

Our coaches want you to have swim equipment, especially fins! Go to our team store to see what we recommend and help support our team. We are also planning to use tempo trainers in workouts starting soon.
