Mark Your Calendars - Parent/Teacher Conferences for 3rd marking period will be held on Monday, February 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Format will be virtual, with links to sign up below (Please SIGN-UP BY FEBRUARY 26th FOR APPOINTMENT SLOTS).

The end of the 3rd marking period is Friday, March 24th.

On Thursday, February 23, FHS Principal, Mike Bakker, sent the following email to all 8th grade students and parents regarding high school scheduling.

Dear Class of 2027 Families,

Hopefully, all of you have enjoyed a little downtime the past couple of snow days and that you still have power at home. I am reaching out today to remind 8th graders that next week on Monday, February 27, the FHS counselors will be visiting you during your social studies class to work with you on scheduling for next school year and to collect your pink course request sheets that were handed out in math class a couple of weeks ago.

ATTENTION Families of 7TH GRADERS WANTING TO GO ON MACKINAC:

I've just been notified that we can only hold the fourth bus until Tuesday, February 28th.

I need 33 more participants to be registered for the waitlist or we cannot open a 4th bus.

Right now, I only have 8 registered on the waitlist.

This is your LAST chance to get on the trip. I can ONLY open the bus if we have a total of 41 on the waiting list.

If you want to be put on the waitlist you must do so by Monday, February 27th or I have to let the bus go back to the company on the 28th.

Please join me in welcoming Kyle McAllister to the AGS Staff. Kyle was recently hired to teach special education at AGS. He student taught at AGS 7 years ago and comes to us from the Waterford School District where he taught for the past 6 years. Kyle lives in Linden and is excited to be a Tiger. He is passionate about education and dedicated to working with his students. Welcome to the AGS Family, Kyle!

Autumn was nominated by counselor Melissa Welsh. She has been a part of the Leadership Council since the beginning of 6th grade. She is constantly thinking about, and implementing ways to make AGS and the Fenton community a better place. Autumn is extremely kind, generous, & hard working. Congratulations Autumn and thank you for helping to make AGS a great place for students!

Mrs. Engel was nominated by several of her colleagues for her passion and enthusiasm for her students. She excels at building relationships and helping her students be successful. Mrs. Engel collaborates with her co-teachers to provide an excellent learning environment. Congratulations Mrs. Engel and thank you for always putting your students first!

Harry Potter Club members - Your student's next meeting on Thursday, 2/23 will include watching part of the Harry Potter 1 movie & a Harry Potter themed potluck. Students received information via announcements & their HP Club Google Classroom. Your student may ask to bring a Harry Potter themed food/beverage, & we will do this during their SRT class & lunch. They will not miss any of their other classes for this meeting.

Leadership Council members - Have been working on & promoting the AGS Kindness Campaign. This includes ways our school community can positively support one another, through random acts of kindness. Our LC members are going to do a presentation, as well as selling bracelets for kindness in the near future (proceeds TBD). Please ask your student for an example of how they've been kind to someone else at their school, OR how someone has been kind to them.

AST is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. AGS Teachers are present and transportation is available for students residing within district. A light snack will also be provided.

Linden/Fenton Heat Girls Varsity Lacrosse in collaboration with Linden Youth Lacrosse is proud to announce Junior Heat Girls Lacrosse! This program will be led by Varsity Heat Coach, Isabel Greene and Youth Coach, Shari Luck. This opportunity is for girls in 6th - 8th grades. The premise of the program is to introduce the sport of lacrosse and provide girls an opportunity to participate and learn the game. Please see the flyer below for more details. Copies of the flyer are available in the main office or you can print the one below.

Our partners at Jersey Mike's will be hosting a fundraising day for AGS! The proceeds will benefit our 8th grade field trip to Chicago. Visit Jersey Mike's anytime on April 12 to support the cause. Thank you to our friends at Jersey Mike's!
