"Holidays around the World" was a great event! Everyone had a super time! Students went from room to room and learned about holiday traditions from: The Ukraine, The Netherlands, Poland, The Republic of Georgia, and Mexico and we also had rooms to learn about Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, and traditional Christmas. Students were also able to visit with Santa and take home a book present at the end of the night.

The IFHS choir visited on Thursday for a special Holiday Assembly. We'd like to offer a huge "THANK YOU" to Choir Director Caryn Marlowe and the IFHS students who came to share their talent and holiday joy with us!

We will be creating a SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL at Hawthorne. The purpose of the council is to work collaboratively to provide input and feedback about the school’s academic programs. The council will meet twice as a Hawthorne Council, then our Hawthorne Council will be asked to join the other school council's in a big district-wide meeting this spring. For our council we will need 5 parents, 4 teachers, 2 staff members, and 1 patron from our neighborhood.
