Movement Breaks for Focus & Attention
Have you considered making movement breaks part of your daily routine? Utilizing a variety of intentional movement opportunities throughout the day will teach student's self-regulation and many times increase their focus and attention to task.
In this blog post from The Inspired Treehouse Pam Braley explains,
"Kids need to move! The vestibular system is the sensory system that processes and controls movement. The “control panel” that helps kids understand balance, posture, a sense of upright positioning, and alertness in response to movement is located in the inner ear. Guess how this system is activated? BY MOVEMENT, of course!"
