Welcome Mrs. Geer to Art

Please welcome Mrs. Geer to Andrews. She will join us as the new art teacher. Mrs. Little will be working for the district with our EL (English as a second language) students. Mrs. Geer is very creative and will make a wonderful addition to our staff. Mrs. Geer has used her artistic talents in several business ventures. She has a degree in art and has teaching experience from subbing. She is very excited to join our staff.

Welcome Mrs. Fisher to Preschool

Andrews will be starting a preschool program. We are very excited to welcome our new students and parents. Mrs. Fisher has a lot of experience with preschoolers. She has been a preschool director and teacher for over 14 years. She has been teaching preschool at Flint Springs and will be very capable of getting our program up and running.

Welcome to Mrs. Hissong and Miss Johnson

Our two preschool paraprofessionals will be Mrs. Hissong and Mrs. Johnson. Mrs. Hissong has previous experience teaching preschool. Miss Johnson has volunteered and subbed here first semester. We are very excited to have both ladies join our preschool program.

Winter Recess

Just a reminder, we go outside for recess every day unless the windchill is below 20 degrees. Your child may not think he or she needs a coat to walk from home to the car or bus, but 30 minutes outside is a long time without a coat. Please write your child's initials or name on the tag inside their coat. When coats get lost, it is very helpful for us to find the owner if the tag is labeled in some way. If your child is in need of a winter coat, please contact Mrs. Terpstra, our counselor.

Yearbook Orders

Yearbook order forms will come home soon. Yearbooks are $12.00 and the order form is due by January 30th. Checks need to be made payable to Frederick's Photography.

Winter Conferences

Teachers will hold winter conferences on January 25th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Teachers will contact you if they wish to schedule a conference. You can also contact your child's teacher if you wish to schedule a conference. If your child is doing well and you don't have any concerns, you will not need to schedule a winter conference.

Substitute Recess Monitor Needed

We are in need of additional substitutes for recess monitor. The hours would be 11:00-1:30 each day. Duties include supervising groups of students on the playground. If you enjoy working with children, this could be a great way to have a little extra money and still be able to be home for your family before and after school and on vacations. If you are interested in finding out more, please call the school office at 260-786-3021 and talk to Kim Cocklin.

Fifth Grade Basketball:

We are starting our 5th grade intramural basketball season! Mrs. Thieme will coach the girl's team and Mr. Penrod will coach the boy's team. Practices will be on Monday and Wednesday from 3:40-5:00 PM for boys and Tuesday and Thursday from 3:40-5:00 PM for girls. Each player must have a current physical on file to participate.

Girls Game starts at 5:30. Boys game starts at 6:30 PM. Game days are as follows:
