Double Good Virtual Fundraiser
All participants create a Pop-Up Store and sell Double Good Popcorn! Prices for Signature Bags (5 cups each) start at $9 and Curated Collections at $26. The popcorn is ultra-premium, delicious, and award-winning!
Our fundraiser window begins on March 21, 2023 at 5:00 PM and goes until March 25, 2023 at 5:00 PM.
Before the fundraiser begins:

PARENT MEETINGS
-we are unable to hold parent meetings until after 9:30 am. Everyone on our team is involved in student arrival and our number one priority is student safety. Please call the front office to schedule a meeting so we can ensure to address any questions or concerns.
TRANSPORTATION
-a reminder that bus riding is a privilege. If students are not following bus rules, they will be suspended from the bus.
ATTENDANCE, DRESS CODE and CELL PHONE POLICIES
-Please see the policies attached below. This week we began sending home Dress Code Violation letters. Please ensure that your child is coming to school in uniform daily. Students may not wear hooded sweatshirts during the school day.
SCHOOL HOURS
-Our school hours are 8:45 am - 3:45 pm
-The doors open at 8:40 am for students
-Breakfast is served daily from 8:40 am - 9:00am
-Students are considered late by 9:00 am. Please walk your student into the building if they are late. We want to ensure student safety.

Students in the Chester Upland School District school community AND their families, can come to Tyler Arboretum and enjoy FREE admission (for children and adults) for the rest of the 2022-23 school year, ending June 30, 2023. Please present the following code at the Visitor Center: PECO2022

We are still seeking additional parent involvement for the Parent Caregiver Association! Our next meeting will take place Wednesday, March 15th. Future meetings are 4/19, and 5/17.

Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Ann Hobbs
Here is how Mrs. Hobbs' colleagues describe her:
- Cool, calm, and collected
- Mrs. Hobbs always has the best stories
- She is the school/work mom we all need
- Mrs. Hobbs always knows what do or what resources are available
- She helps me to put things into perspective, always my voice of reason
- Mrs. Hobbs is always there for the kids no matter what grade level! She is a great person to lean on and help to bounce ideas off of.
- Mrs. Hobbs is part of the glue that holds us together! She loves each of our kids with her whole heart even it's not always the easiest thing to do! I always know when I need a listening ear or to bounce ideas off of, she is a go to person! She is a great friend and an even better human. We are blessed to have her looking out for the best interest of our children!
-She is truly the best at what she does!! Ann does so much for all of the kids at ESA every day! She listens to the students with an empathetic ear, helps them resolve their conflicts with kindness, and helps them work through their problems with the utmost compassion! They know that Mrs. Hobbs genuinely cares about them. She truly is a gem and we are so lucky to have her!!
- Theee most organized person I have ever met!
- Mrs. Hobbs is my go-to person for everything. Every year she is extremely supportive and finds time to check in on everyone, both staff and students. When I talk to her about my kids I never have to recap her on who I'm talking about or their situation because she truly knows all of the students and goes out of her way to stay up to date with them.
- She is always a team player!
- Ann is a dedicated caring support to the students and the staff. She has taken on more that her job as a social worker at ESA. Ann shows up to assist in a crisis but also if you need her to watch a room to make a copy or for a bathroom run. Ann always puts the students first.
- Ann is the most supportive coworker. She is always there when you need her. She is a team player. She always shows up for our kids.
- Mrs. Hobbs jumps in to support whenever and however needed. She always seems to know just how to handle a situation, what resource or support is needed, or what shoes go best with that outfit.
- I can always rely on her no matter what! Mrs. Hobbs is my person and I love her for that.
- She always has the best snacks.
- I want to be Mrs. Hobbs when I grow up. What an amazing human!

Lunch and Door Dash
We are seeing an increase in Door Dash deliveries. Please do not Door Dash your child food. Many times the food is left outside causing an unsafe situation. Students are welcomed to have a school lunch or pack their lunch, but Door Dash is not an option.
Dress Code
Expectation: Children are expected to wear the WPCS or Chester Upland School District uniform to school each day. Families are asked to contact the school’s social worker, if they have any questions or concerns about obtaining the uniform.

Grey Pleated Twill Pants or Grey Pleated Skirt
Maroon Polo Shirt or White Button-down Shirt
Maroon Cardigan or Maroon Sweater Vest with WPCS Emblem

UNACCEPTABLE ATTIRE/ACCESSORIES FOR STUDENTS:

Stained, torn or overly worn uniforms
Striped, designed, decorated or brightly colored socks and undershirts
Fanny packs and purses( purses can be no larger then 8 inches wide and 5 inches in length)
Cell Phone Policy
Please review the cell phone policy:
Cell Phone and Electronic Devices
The use of cell phones and electronic devices are not permitted at ESA. Upon entering the school building students must turn off all electronic devices and keep them stored in their backpack or lockers (grades 5-8) If the electronic device is seen or heard by an ESA Staff member, the device will be confiscated. The first time the device is confiscated it will be returned to the student at the end of the day. For each infraction thereafter, confiscated phones will be turned in to the Dean and must be picked up by an adult. Confiscated phones will not be given back to the child. ESA will not assume responsibility for the loss or theft of any electronic device. Smart Watches are prohibited from being worn in the building. ESA reserves the right to reasonably search and/or confiscate any and all electronic devices to the extent allowed by applicable state and/or federal laws and regulations.
