A Snapshot of STEAM Learning at Carver!
Fifth grade students from Mrs. Snipes' class are working with balanced and unbalanced forces by using Knex cars that they build the previous week.
Third graders researched a culture of their choosing and created a culture cube. They then presented their cubes in front of their classmates. They had to include things such as languages spoken, arts, celebrations, cultural foods, and more. This is just one part of their culture unit in Social Studies.
Fossil Frank came to visit our third grade students. It was a great learning experience!
Mrs. Pryor's kindergarten students learned about Groundhog’s Day and making predictions. They were also shadow detectives and learned all about light and why shadows appear.
Mrs. Jordan's Art Club students are constructing masks! Cute!
Staff Shout-out!
Congrats to the six talented Carver Elementary students who were selected to perform with the South Carolina Elementary Honor Choir Saturday at Lexington Baptist Church under the direction of composer and conductor Herbert Washington of the Phoenix Boys Choir. The students, (L to R) Miriam Welch, Stella Price, Andreana Young, and Wren Boone are pictured with Carver music teacher Christina Welch. (Miah Grace Fowler and Allie Phillips-Lunsford also made the choir but were unable to participate due to illness). It was a spectacular performance!
