Wiggin Street Parent Update
January 26, 2024
Better Together
Dear Wiggin Street Families,
This update took a little longer to develop with our exciting Outback Ray assembly at the end of the day on Friday. It was definitely the highlight of our week as a reward for positive behavior. We all enjoyed Outback Ray's humor and how he engaged the audience with most everyone participating during the show. Enjoy the pictures and videos!
Don't forget that students should be collecting their Math-a-Thon pledges this week, and envelopes with money should be returned starting MONDAY, but no later than Wednesday, January 31st. Also, families that have a TOTAL of $100 will be invited to the Six Miles to Nellie Concert!
Lastly, have you had difficulty logging your student into Lexia? Directions are below to access the site and log in. There were changes made recently by our tech department. Sorry for any difficulties.
Best wishes,
Christy Grandstaff
Math-a-Thon Important Information
Your student should have brought home their Math-a-Thon envelopes on Friday after they completed their Math Medley, so they can start collecting their pledge money. They DO NOT have to stick to what is on their envelope. If they want to collect more (YAY!) or if someone didn't realize how much and wants to send less, that is fine. We will accept any amount they bring in.
Also, families that have a TOTAL of $100 will be invited to the Six Miles to Nellie Concert! Envelopes with money should be returned starting MONDAY, but no later than Wednesday, January 31st.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

Lexia Accounts
We have heard from many parents about having difficulties getting their students logged into Lexia at home. There was a change in Lexia by technology, and all students are accessing the program through ClassLink which they can do at home in their Google Account.
Another option is to go to https://www.lexiacore5.com/ and have them login using their username and password which is the following:
Username: 2 digits of graduating year first initial and last name with no spaces in between (for example- 34cgrandstaff)
Password: Mvcsd and 4 digit lunch pin number (for example- Mvcsd1234)
There are a few exceptions where students lunch pin numbers are different. If you continue to have any difficulties, please email Mrs. Grandstaff at cgrandstaff@mvcsd.us and your child's exact username and password can be sent to you.
Winter Weather
Inclement Weather Calamity Days
The following link will provide you with details shared by Superintendent Seder on how the decision is made for closings and delays. “School Closings and Delays - How is the Decision Made”
Also, we use ‘Instant Connect Alerts’ as our closings and delays notification system which is how you probably received this Parent Update. If not, please make sure you have signed up at Instant Connect portal.
Temperature and wind chill. Temperature and/or sustained wind chills at or below -10F during peak pick-up times for buses and walking times for students are given special consideration.
Lastly, if school is on a 2-hour delay, we will start school at 11:00 am with drop-off beginning at 10:40. Lunch will always be pizza on delay days, and no breakfast will be served.
