Staff Shout Out
Noelle Cormier, Kristin Ciarmataro, Amy Turra, Troy Zipper, Rich Giso, Nikki Hogan, Keeghan Hughes, Natalie Pavia, and Lissa Levine.
These nine amazing educators volunteered their time in order to chaperone The Farm School field trip for our E2 seniors. This trip would not be possible without all of them. Their willingness to donate their personal time, and be away from their families, truly shows their dedication to Carlton.

Homework at Carlton
Starting October 13th, we'll be introducing a new homework plan at Carlton.
Key Details:
- Homework will be optional to better accommodate your student's needs.
- Homework assignments will be sent home each Friday and collected the following Friday.
- There will be nightly reading, a weekly writing prompt, and some form of math practice.
We believe this approach will promote a healthier balance between school and personal time.
Teacher and Learning
Dr. Zrike and I had the chance to visit the P2 classrooms on Monday and observe students engaging in grade-appropriate reading and writing activities. Carlton is working diligently to improve students' writing skills, which aligns with our School Improvement Plan's focus on grade-level standards-based exposure for all students.
It was especially encouraging to witness a clear workshop model being implemented, as well as targeted small group instruction. These instructional strategies can be highly effective in meeting the diverse needs of students and helping them develop their writing skills. Additionally, high student engagement was a positive sign that the teaching methods and materials are resonating with our students.
Overall, continuing to focus on grade-level standards and effective instructional practices will likely yield positive results for our kiddos!
