Satchel Pulse
Pickerington Elementary is pleased to announce the introduction of Satchel Pulse Skills, a tool to help us monitor and improve the social-emotional learning of all our students.
What is Social-Emotional Learning?
Social-emotional learning (Skills) programs help youth and adults learn and apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes to enrich their personal and academic lives. Studies have shown that social-emotional learning programs increase academic performance, attendance, behavior, and post-secondary success.
Skills include developing healthy identities, managing emotions, setting and achieving goals, developing empathy for others, establishing and maintaining supportive relationships, collaborating with others, and making responsible and caring decisions.
How does Satchel Pulse work?
Satchel Pulse provides an easy-to-use assessment with 25 simple questions. Students use the assessment to rate their self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship, and responsible decision-making skills.
Student answers help us learn how to best support our studentsā ongoing development in these five critical skills.
What happens next?
Once your district roster data is integrated and assessments are sent, students will complete their first Satchel Pulse Skills assessment. Depending on the schoolās wishes, students may take the Satchel Pulse Skills assessment at school or home as assessments are designed to be functional across a range of applications including Chromebooks, tablets, and smartphones.
When will it start?
November 21st
