We're in the home stretch. It's the final week of school with Kinder Celebration on Monday our big High School Graduation in the Northrup Stadium at Tustin HS on Tuesday, 5th grade celebration on Wednesday, and lots more celebrations throughout the week. Please make sure to turn in your device to the office and any textbooks if you are not returning to Tustin Unified. This week's background features a photo grid from 8th grade promotion. What a great celebration! Thank you to all of the parents, Ms. Paulson, our office staff, and the incredible students! You're going to do great in high school!
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or compliments, please reach out to Mr. Fineberg, our principal, at efineberg@tustin.k12.ca.us.

Principal's Message...
We had a beautiful 8th grade promotion on Thursday which will lead up to a full week of celebrations in the coming week with our high school grads finishing off their K-12 educational journeys this Tuesday at 3 pm. We are so proud of them and all of our students as we say goodbye to the 21/22 school year.
I've received some questions about information shared regarding the 22/23 school year and attendance requirements for Tustin Connect . As mentioned, high school students will need to come in for assessments in order to be UC A-G and NCAA compliant. Across all grade levels, the expectation will be that students will attend in person once a week for their synchronous instructional requirement. If there is a medical concern or exception needed, a simple conversation with your teacher or Mr. Fineberg will be all that's needed. The value of that in-person connection between students and staff has been key to the success of Tustin Connect in the past and our efforts to return to what we know works. Our goal is to have a tentative schedule of days for required and optional class time prior to leaving for break. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like any clarification. Also, please take a moment if you haven't done so already to provide feedback on your experience at Tustin Connect this year. I read each and every one of them and they help guide us as we look to improve and strengthen our programs.

Elementary Information
iPads: If you are returning to Tustin Connect or any TUSD school in 2022/23, please hold onto your device as you'll be using it next year. This includes 5th grade students matriculating to middle school
End of the Year Celebrations: We have celebrations galore as we should! Your teachers have all emailed you with specific dates and times. Every grade level has something going on so be sure you connect with your teachers to confirm.
Kinder Celebration: Our kinders will be celebrating on the field at 10 am on Monday. Be sure to bring camping/beach chairs and/or a towel.
Promotion Picnic: We are excited to host a promotion picnic for families behind the classrooms on May 25th at 12:30 to celebrate our 5th grade class. Families are invited to join us on the field. We recommend bringing a blanket or chairs and an umbrella for shade, as well as lunch to enjoy after awards. During the event, students will get awards, their promotion certificate, and we will have a student speaker. After the awards you can eat with your family, and we will have games for the students to play together.

Middle School Information
iPads: Current 6th and 7th grade students planning to attend Tustin Connect or any TUSD school in 2022/23, please hold onto your device as you'll be using it next year. All 8th grade students need to turn in their devices regardless of where they will be attending high school as there is a different device for high schoolers. Device collection is on Tuesday 10-1pm. If you need to drop the device earlier, that is okay. Just be sure to bring your iPad, charging cord, and brick to avoid any penalties for lost items.
End of Year: Be sure to check in with your teachers about any dates for the end of the year. Lots of fun stuff going on and a great way to put a final stamp on the school year. Also, be sure to get all of your assignments in on time this week as grades are due for teachers this week!

High School Information
21/22 In the Books: A big shout out to our students. Our seniors in particular really brought it home and it looks like 100% of our seniors will graduate. Not withstanding a few grey hairs for the teachers, you guys pulled it off. It's imperative that any classes that students did not pass are remediated. It's 230 credits to graduate and you'll need all of your classes. We've had a few years of flexibility. 22/23 will see a return to the 230 credit requirement, so be sure to complete summer school if you're signed up and get in on credit recovery as soon as we return.
Reminder Course Requests: Please be sure to sign up for courses for 22/23. The following videos will show you step by step how to pick your courses. Mrs. Hsieh is here to help as well and can be reached via email at phsieh@tustin.k12.ca.us.
PTA Weekly Round Up
Hello Maverick Families,
May 20, 2022
We’re happy to announce Ziggy McBride as our new PTA president. Ziggy is an extraordinarily talented, energetic, and optimistic individual with many years of PTA experience. We’re so fortunate to have her step into the President role next year. Welcome Ziggy!
Your PTA had learned a lot this year and faced unusual challenges, with staff parents and volunteer efforts, in my estimation, we have done remarkably well! So many of you stepped up, and stepped in, to do your part big or small to expand this Tustin Connect Community and enhance your child’s school experience. We all know what a special place this is, especially under the guidance and inspiration from our Principal, Mr. Fineberg and Tustin Connect’s talented teachers and staff. Their vision is what motivates PTA! Thank you.
There is a lot happening the end of the year. To keep on the what’s & how’s – go to tusinconnectpta.com.
