Titan Updates
Mayor Evans Visits Thomas
Thank you to Ms. Lundquist for bringing in the Mayor of Rochester as a guest speaker in her Citizens in Action Class!! The mayor spent an hour talking with students about his job, the Rochester region and the challenges of being the Mayor. Joining the class were members of our DREAM Club and Black and Brown Student Union. It was a great experience for these students!

Attention Seniors and Parents/Guardians!
Planning for this year’s Senior Trip to Camp Cory is underway. Please be on the lookout for the Senior Trip packet, which will be mailed home next week. Additionally, please note that the date of the mandatory Senior Trip parent/student meeting has changed. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 28 at 6:30 pm in the Thomas auditorium. Students and at least one parent/guardian must attend.

From the Counseling Center...
Attention Seniors:
The common application for senior awards is now available in the counseling center. The applications are due back no later than Wednesday, March 27th at 3:30. Please read all directions carefully. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
PreACT Exam is a practice ACT Exam
The PreACT is a practice ACT exam we offer sophomores. This practice exam is being held on Saturday, March 9th here at Thomas from 7:30am-11:30am. The cost is $18.00 and registration forms are available in the counseling center or at the link below.
ASVAB Exam for grades 10-12
The ASVAB exam is a multi aptitude exam for high school students that helps align your skills with your interests. This exam may help you explore future career goals. This is a free exam that is open to anyone in grades 10 through 12. The exam is on Saturday, March 16th at 9:00am here at Thomas. Pick up your registration form in the counseling center or at the link below.
Common Application for junior awards
Attention Juniors: The common application for junior college awards is now available in the counseling center. This application contains awards and scholarship money to colleges such as RIT, U of R, Clarkson and other area colleges. Pick up your application today in the counseling center. Deadline for completed applications is March 22, 2024.
Colleges visiting Thomas this spring
The following colleges are coming to Thomas starting at the end of February. Sign up to visit them in the counseling center. Niagara, Grand Canyon University, D'Youville, Le Moyne, Embry Riddle Aeronautical and Morrisville.
SUNY Geneseo - field trip for juniors
Attention Juniors: The counseling department is taking a field trip to SUNY Geneseo on Monday, March 18th .The visit includes a presentation, tour of the campus and lunch. Pick up your permission slip in the counseling center. Spots are limited.
Teen Police Summer Academy
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is holding their teen police academy this summer. This is a free week-long camp that consists of physical training, classroom instruction and reality-based training. Applications are available in the counseling center.

BRAVO cards will be available at all musical events again this year! Write a special note for your performer which will be specially delivered to them in school!

Spring Driver Education information
Spring Driver Education information will be online February 21 here https://registration.xendirect.com/webstercsd/search.cfm. Seniors and juniors may register at 8 am on March 5 and if spaces are available, sophomores may register on March 6. Students must have their permit by the start of the class, which is April 10. The end date for driver ed spring session is June 6.

Please note that when you register, you are registering for a driving time. All lectures are via zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 - 9 pm for all driver ed students.
February Athletes of the Month
Emily F Varsity Cheerleading
Emily was nominated because of her consistency, dedication, and leadership. With a perfect attendance record and a relentless work ethic, she sets a standard of excellence for her teammates to follow. Her commitment to improving her skills and pushing herself in cheerleading really mirrors her approach to academics. Just as she tirelessly practices, she studies and works hard, preparing for her next steps after high school; demonstrating a remarkable balance between her athletic and academic pursuits.
Philip D.- Alpine skiing
Philip is in his first year of competitive skiing and is excelling both as an athlete member of the team. Philip will be attending the United States Naval Academy next year majoring in aerospace engineering. He also is a licensed pilot.

Cheerleading
The Cheer team will be competing in Sectionals at Gates Chili HS Saturday.
Indoor Track
The Titans Indoor track team competed in the Monroe County Championship meet this past Saturday at Nazareth College. Jada K took 3rd in the 55 Hurdles. Khimere J took 6th in the 55m.Patrick K took 3rd in the 1000m. Natalia Seremetis was 8th in the 1500m. The Girls 4x200 team of Jada K, Kamia M, Kaylee F and Brooke S placed 7th. Max B placed 7th in shot put and 2nd in weight throw. Jane C was 2nd in shot put and 3rd in weight throw. Aidyn H took 4th in pole vault. Gianna L was 3rd in high jump and 5th in triple jump Next up for the Titans are the Sectionals Saturday at Nazareth College.
Bowling
The Titan Bowlers competed in Sectionals this week.
Nordic Ski
The Lakers Nordic team competed at Bristol Mountain Monday in the Individual Sectional Races and the Sectional Relays on Tuesday.
Alpine Ski
The Lakers Alpine Teams competed in Sectional Races at Swain.. The boys raced Tuesday and the girls raced Wednesday.
Boys Basketball
The Boys played at Fairport Wednesday evening. They lost 57-32. Levi K. had 12 points on the night.
Girls Basketball
The girls hosted Victor Tuesday evening. They lost 57-35. Olivia B had 13 points. Kristina B had 14 points and 8 rebounds. The Titans will head into Sectionals as the 12 seed with a game next Tuesday with the opponent TBD.
Wrestling
The Titan Wrestlers were at SUNY Brockport for the NYS Qualifiers last Saturday. Connor G (108) will be heading to the NYS championships with his true 2nd place finish. Cameron G (116) finished 6th,Colin M (124) took 5th, Alex P ( 138) finished 4th. Eric M (138) finished 3rd.Jon S (160) took 4th. Keiran H (190) took 3rd. Dom B (215) finished 4th. Anthony C (285) finished in 3rd place.
Boys Swimming
The Lakers are sending 5 swimmers to the NYSPHSAA Swim Championships - Micah S , Max A, Caleb C , Jon M and Jack F will represent Webster.
Boys Hockey
The boys Hockey team defeated Hilton last Saturday 2-0. Goals were scored by Cam H with an assist from Nick G. and Nate S from Carter C. Mike N had the shutout in goal.
The Titans played in the Class B Sectional Quarterfinals Thursday evening hosting Aquinas.
The Titans won the game 4-2 and will face Schroeder in the Semi finals next Wednesday at 7pm at the Webster Ice Arena. Titan's first goal was scored by Logan B unassisted. Cam H had the second unassisted. Trevor V put in the third with an assist by Nick G. Nate S finished the scoring with an empty netter. Mike N had an outstanding night in goal for the Titans.
Girls Hockey
The Lakers played in the NYS Far West Regionals at Buffalo State University Wednesday night. The game was tied 3-3 in regulation and went to OT. The Lakers were given a penalty about half way through the first overtime time and KENGIPORT scored on a power play. Molly M scored two of the Lakers' goals . The first was assisted by Maddie M. Her second was assisted by Makenzie B and Madison O. The Lakers other goal was scored by Madison O. assisted by Makenzie B and Molly M. Senior Maddie S faced 31 shots and made 28 saves in the game. It was a great first season for the Webster Lakers.
