We had a wonderful week of kindness at Ferson! From Kindness quotes, to positive messages, to cards of thanks, students and staff all made Ferson a very kind place to be!

A big thank you to all of the parents who helped make our Valentine's Day parties a success. The kids had a great time and it was a fun way to kick off Kindness Week!

Just a reminder that Tuesday is 2-22-22! Students are welcome to join in the fun by wearing tutus, ties, and tennis shoes!

5th Graders in 5KK were given the option to participate in the Flocabulary Black History Month Challenge. Flocabulary is an online resources used for vocabulary development. Highlighting the life of slave Henry Brown, Kiren Walker wrote and recorded engaging and informative lyrics to enter into the contest. You can enjoy Kiren's song here. Excellent job, Kiren!

Mrs. Wise's fourth-grade students created a Washington Monument or Lincoln Memorial replica during a timed LRC STEM challenge. They learned what a monument signifies and about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln's contributions to our country in preparation to build their monuments.

Moving forward, your child's lunch and breakfast selections will go through their Pushcoin accounts. There is no charge associated with either, as all continue to be free. The only charges will be ala carte, such as an individual milk, juice box or water.

We still need Yearbook photos!! Ferson families & staff, send us photos from your favorite memories this school year! First day of school, class parties, holidays, Scouts, sports & activities or even practicing an instrument! Did they make a giant snowman over winter break and want to share it? Send it to us! We are accepting photos until Friday, Feb. 25th!!

At Monday night's Board of Education meeting next year's calendar was revised and the 2022-2023 calendar was approved. Below are the changes for next year:

• Friday, November 4th SIP day moved to Monday, November 7th

• Tuesday, November 8th - Election Day Holiday

• Friday, May 26, 2023 - last day of school (one day added due to 11/8 holiday)

Do you have a couple of hours to spare during the day? We are really in need of lunchroom supervisors! We are flexible on days of the week as well as the length of your shift. The BOE is seeking input from families and staff as they partner with a search firm in selecting candidates for the superintendent position. Please see this letter from Board President, Jillian Barker, which includes details regarding a survey as well as a Ferson Creek Forum.

Each year D303 participates in the 5Essentials Survey. This survey is completed by parents, staff and students in grades 4-11. You can find information regarding the survey here , including the link to complete the survey. We strive for as much participation as possible, so if you can take a few minutes to complete the survey, it would be greatly appreciated. Our 4th and 5th grade students will complete their survey during the day with their classroom teacher.
