Walk & Roll: It’s Good for Your Heart
Whether you walk or bike a few blocks or over a mile, physical activity is good for your heart, your whole body, and it’s fun! With cold winter weather, children spend less time playing outside, but a nice brisk walk or bike ride will help achieve their recommended 60 minutes daily exercise and help prevent childhood obesity and support healthy bones.
Hybrid or CDL, the choice is yours: deadline Feb. 15th
To make your decision:
- Access your ParentVue account.
- Navigate to the upper right-hand corner and click on “Family Updates and New Student Enrollment” and then follow the instructions in the blue box.
- You’ll need to make a choice for each of your elementary students.
- If you don’t have a ParentVue account, read the sign-up instructions on our website.
You also can go to our Return to School webpage and follow the directions to submit your decision.
All decisions must be made by February 15.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Elementary Hybrid/CDL Q & A Session
We understand the decision to either remain in CDL or transition to In-Person Hybrid Instruction is a difficult one, and you have many questions. The district will hold an Elementary Return-to-School Q&A Session on Wednesday, February 10 from 7-8 p.m. District leaders will be available to answer questions from parents/guardians about the Hybrid plan. The Q&A session will not be live but recorded and posted on our Return-to-School webpage and on social media with enough time for families to watch before the February 15 deadline.
If you’re interested in participating, please complete the Elementary Return-to-School Community Q&A Form by February 8. Six community members will be selected at random to participate. Four additional participants will be selected from our historically underrepresented communities. Each parent will be allowed to ask at least one question and one follow-up question during the hour-long session.
5th Grade Families: The Shift to Stoller
Stoller MS principal, Veronica Galvan invites you to join her and Sato's Principal Annie Pleau on Thursday, February 18th at 7:00pm for a look at what it's like to be a Middle School parent.
Making the jump for the first time from elementary to middle school is a big deal for parents as well as students.
Your children are given more responsibility in MS but also a little more freedom. Parent participation looks a little different but still a valuable and necessary resource in shaping the
Stoller Community and providing enrichment for our students.
Ms. Galvan looks forward to welcoming you, helping you understand what to expect and putting your concerns at ease as you and your children get ready to shift to Stoller.

Sato's First Virtual Raccoon Read In Hosted by: Student Council A School Wide Event Breaks Zoom
Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!
Over 300 students tried to log into our Virtual Read in on Friday, January 29th! We learned the hard way that 300 is the max our current zoom subscription will allow! We do apologize if there were some disappointed raccoons out there who were ready and wanting to join but couldn't. We are also thrilled that there was so much interest in this event and so we do plan to host something similar again in the near future!
In the meantime Keep Reading Raccoons!!
Sato Elementary - Read-a-thon Fundraiser!
This year, SECO is excited to announce that they will hold a Read-a-thon fundraiser.
Our Read-a-thon is a program that brings students together with family and friends to encourage reading and to build literacy skills. The main focus of the Read-a-thon is for everyone to know we are committed to improving reading skills. To that end, the Read-a-thon promises to be a fun, exciting journey for all participants as they begin a personal Reading Adventure that challenges each reader to complete 10 reading sessions over our 2-week event.
Our Read-a-thon will start Tuesday, February 16th 2021. Approximately 1 week before we start our first reading session we will send parents and students an email explaining how you will activate their personal Read-a-thon page. We understand that, as parents, you have high expectations for the quality of your child’s education but also have limited time. That’s why we chose to hold a Read-a-thon. You will find this to be the easiest fundraiser possible. By simply activating your reader’s personal page and using the promotional tools found there, friends and family anywhere in the world can show their support for your reader by making a donation to our Read-a-thon. Your involvement in the Read-a-thon will help your child develop a lasting love of reading. We hope each one of you will activate your child’s personal page the day your child receives their instructions on how to do that.
