Bring a sack lunch, it will be a full day!

We will learn sewing machine basics, and how to operate the machine. Youth will make an apron, 4 patch pillow, and a pillowcase. All materials will be furnished, and spaces will be limited.

Prerequisite: Must have done Beg. Sewing Workshop, or have equivalent basic skills!

Come make some goodies to Cozy up your Kitchen! Today we will make a fabric bowl cozy, a potato baker, and your choice of a placemat or mug rugs! Spaces will be limited! Materials available, or you may bring a specific color or design you want for your kitchen set. Ask for a materials list if you choose this option.

• Don't forget, the checks are dated and void SOON! Don't delay, get yours today!

If you're not sure what you need to do to get your checks, call and staff can assist you, then bring your stamped and addressed thank you's in exchange for your checks.

Archery Instructors are asking that you do your 4-H Online, and re-enroll and consents now, to get ready for the upcoming season. Please also let Brian Lukert (402-768-1790) or Bo Gilliam (402-768-1224) know of your interest, so you can get on their information updates lists. NEW THIS YEAR, the program has received a grant, for the purchase of equipment needed to allow full participation. Looking forward to a great new year!!! Get signed up TODAY!

Enroll in 4-H 2024!!! Then come to the office and correctly identify the SIX different tree leaves displayed in the office window and tell us the slogan. Win a Prize!!! Do you like trees and learning about how to identify them?? There is a Tree ID Contest in the spring, and we would love to form a team and take a group to compete. Let us know!

Enroll in 4-H 2024!!! Then let the office know if your are interested in attending scheduled Obedience Dog Classes. We are thinking they would start after the first of the year, and meet on a weekly basis. We have interested instructors, if we have interested 4-Her's.

The Thayer County 4-H Council has updated the the scholarship application to hopefully assist our 4-H youth to be able to use one application for several opportunities. It has been made to ask the same type of questions the achievement application asks. These opportunities include:

• County Awards if handed in by November 1st
• County Scholarship if handed in by December 15th
• State Awards if emailed to 4HAchieves@unl.edu by January 5th
• Nebraska 4-H Foundation if emailed to 4HAchieves@unl.edu by January 5th including a few additional articles of information.

Are you interested in serving the the Thayer County 4-H Council in an adult or youth compacity please contact the office by November 10th! We need to fill one adult position and two youth positions. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. 402-768-7212

Youth must be 14 by Jan 1st 2024 to be considered for a place on the ballot.

One male and one female 4-Her will each receive a $500 scholarship at the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers Banquet in January. It is strongly suggested that you are able to attend this banquet to receive the scholarship. Scholarships must be submitted to your county office no later than November 30, 2023 so that we can select one female and one male application to send on to the state committee for final selection.
