We have had an incredible first couple of days welcoming students back to OMS! Seeing their smiling faces come through the door, eager to learn, has been amazing. We look forward to a joyful, successful school year! Thank you to all of our families for your patience during arrival and dismissal. Here is a wonderful article about ways to talk to your children about the school day!

OMS students and staff will be excited to welcome well-known authors/illustrators Mac Barnett and Greg Pizzoli on Thursday, September 5th. Together, these authors have created a new uproarious early reader series about a mischievous rabbit, a cranky old lady, and a lovable dog. Students in K, 1, and 2 will attend an assembly at 2:30 on 9/5. Order forms for autographed copies of the books may be picked up in the LMC or may be downloaded and printed from the LMC website.

The LMC (library media center) team would like to celebrate our summer readers. Students should return completed OMS or Arlington Heights Library summer reading logs to the LMC and pick up their prize of either a rocket ship bookmark or brag tag. Extra forms may be downloaded and printed from the LMC website. We’ll accept forms throughout the first few weeks of school.
