SVS Vision:
We aim to provide students with the necessary tools to achieve their full potential.
SVS Mission:
In collaboration with family and community, we will build strong relationships and share challenging, innovative instruction to inspire student passions, potential, and the ability to think critically and creatively.
PRINCIPAL'S PIECE
Greetings! We hope this message finds you well. As we conclude the first month of the school year, we wanted to share some insights and updates on your students' progress and experiences.
Academic Exploration:
The transition to middle and high school has been an exciting journey for our students. They've been immersing themselves in a diverse range of subjects, from AP classes to thought-provoking literatures. I am impressed by their dedication to learning and their willingness to tackle new challenges.
Navigating Challenges:
As with any new endeavor, challenges are a natural part of the process. Our students have shown resilience and adaptability in facing these challenges. Whether it's managing their time effectively to get to class on time or adjusting to higher academic expectations, they're demonstrating the qualities that will serve them well in their academic and personal lives.
Engaged Discussions:
One of the highlights of this first month has been the quality of discussions in our classrooms. Students are actively participating, sharing their perspectives, and engaging in thoughtful dialogs. These interactions contribute significantly to their intellectual growth and critical thinking skills.
Extracurricular Excellence:
Our middle and high school soccer seasons are off to a great start. High school volleyball and middle school basketball are starting up soon. I truly feel that extracurricular activities are an integral part of students holistic development.
Supportive Community:
Our school community is built on collaboration and support. We encourage you to maintain an open line of communication with us. Feel free to reach out to teachers, counselors, or administration if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. Your involvement is invaluable to us.
Looking Ahead:
As we look ahead to the coming months, we're excited about the upcoming events and opportunities for our high school students. Parent-teacher conferences, college preparation workshops, and various student-led projects are just a few of the things on the horizon.
Gratitude:
We want to express our gratitude for entrusting us with your child's education during these crucial years. Your partnership is a vital part of their academic journey, and we're committed to providing them with the best possible experience.
In conclusion, we're proud of the progress our student/s have made in this first month. We're confident that with your continued support and their dedication, this academic year will be one of growth, achievement, and memorable experiences.
Warm regards,
Partners in education,
Bryan Kirby, SVS Principal

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: FALL 2023
High School Soccer:
HS soccer is 2-3-1, as of August 28. We've been working hard on improving our passing game and communicating on the field. While we haven't seen as many wins as we might like, we have played some good soccer. Here's hoping we continue to improve and grow as a team to make a strong showing at the upcoming Tri-Valley Tournament September 7 - 9. ~Coach South
Middle School Soccer:
MS Soccer is off to a great start this year. We have new and returning athletes, and all are showing up ready to learn new skills, play hard, and have fun. The team has a lot of depth, with over 25 student athletes eligible to play - it's great to see all the student interest in the sport! Practices have been running for about 2 weeks, and we just had our first game of the season. Everyone got out on the field to show their stuff and get used to game-play. This week we have our first home game. We're excited to play in front of the home crowd - Go Rams! ~ Coach K
HS VOLLEYBALL (GIRLS) & MS BASKETBALL (CO-ED)
High school volleyball will begin practice on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 4:00 PM.
