Thanks to generous support from the Piedmont Master Gardeners and the Stony Point PTO, we will begin replacing our raised beds on Sunday November 12th! This is a huge project and we will need lots of volunteers to help demolish the old beds and assemble the new ones.

Don't forget your water bottle and a snack. Please contact Amber Capron at amber@cricketrun.com, if you can help with this project.

Make-up picture day is Monday November 13th. If your child did not get their picture taken already, they can get it taken on this day. If your child was present for the initial picture day and you weren’t happy with the picture, please send in the envelope so your student can re-take.

Coming home to you soon will be your child's custom catalog for the Square 1 Art fundraiser. All orders must be placed by Tuesday November 14.

Simply search for your child's art using Art Search, and enter state, school name, and your student's name. Your student's art and code will appear, and you may order! You can upload additional art if you like, using Art Upload!

Looking for a fun weekend project? The Virginia Lottery is looking for three student artists to have their artwork featured on thousands of thank-you notes distributed during Teacher Appreciation Week the first full week of May.

Submissions will be accepted now through November 13, 2023. For more information about the Thank a Teacher Art Contest, including official rules, eligibility and entry requirements, visit www.ThankaTeacherVA.com.

UVA's Dark Skies, Bright Kids Program set up a portable planetarium in our gym. Every dragon got to participate. One first grader left the pod and said, "this was the best day!"

We are grateful for our partnership with the PTO! Last year's drive raised enough funds to purchase a brand new electric piano for the school in addition to a new laminator for school-wide use.
