The event will take place on Thursday, February 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the media center. Parents are invited to attend. The deadline to register is Tuesday, February 6. If you prefer, you may send me, Maria Cox, an email or a note with the following information: student name, homeroom/unit/age, parent name, parent email and phone number, home address, and need a study packet. Please send to mcox@cpsk12.org. I am looking forward to a great competition!

Ridgeway Tours for Prospective Families
It is time for prospective parents to visit Ridgeway! Tours begin next week, and the lottery is right around the corner this coming spring. Our Ridgeway families are one of the best ways to get the word out about Ridgeway. The below image is also attached as a PDF. You will notice the image has a QR code that takes you right to information on our website about Ridgeway. Please share the image/PDF with families that have a student entering kindergarten next year!

FunDay Donations
The FunDay Donations Committee would LOVE your help and input! If ANY of these describe you, please consider lending a hand in soliciting and collecting donations to make FunDay as successful as ever!
- Your employer offers charitable donations
- You own a business whose goods and/or services could be donated for prize packages or silent auctions
- You don’t mind reaching out to organizations near or far via phone, email, or in-person to inquire about FunDay donations
- You don’t have a ton of time for calling or emailing, but you have interesting ideas and are willing to share them!
Please contact RWEFunDay@gmail.com or SamHutmacher@gmail.com to learn more!

Unit B students are learning how to write personal narratives. You can help at home by talking about special memories with your child and maybe even making lists of writing topics to help them at school.
Also, be sure to turn in completed January reading calendars.

Unit C
Unit C students are welcome to bring in Valentine’s cards/items to share with their classmates starting Monday, February 12. We will have time built into our schedule for distribution. We ask that if a student brings a Valentine for one person in their homeroom class, that they bring something for each person in their homeroom class. However, a student is not required to bring anything to hand out. Ridgeway will celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14 with Unit activities. Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher with questions or concerns.

Message from Ms. Roettgen - Speech Language Pathologist
Practicing speech for just 5 minutes a day can lead to huge progress toward your student’s speech progress! Speech bingo is a fun and flexible way to practice at home. If your student completes five squares in a row, they can turn it in for a prize. Good luck practicing!
