Part 2: Data Refinement
Dear TVUSD Community Members:
As we continue our search for the next superintendent of our school district, we want to express our sincere gratitude for those who participated in our first survey. Your invaluable input and participation is truly appreciated.
However, our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and ensuring that every member of our community has the opportunity to weigh in on this critical decision remains unwavering. To this end, we are launching a second survey to gather further input from all stakeholders in our community.
The second survey will serve multiple purposes:
- Qualify Prior Input: We want to ensure that the qualities and qualifications identified in the first survey are clear and can be elaborated on.
- Additional Insights: We recognize that perspectives may evolve, and new insights may emerge. We also wanted to add additional options for open response.
- Community Engagement: This survey reaffirms our commitment to an open and inclusive superintendent search process. We want every member of our community, including parents, teachers, students, and local residents, to have their say.
- Refinement of Criteria: The data collected will assist our search committee in refining the criteria for selecting the best candidate to lead TVUSD.
Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement in this process. Your dedication to our community's education system is truly commendable, and it is your commitment that will help us find the best leader for our schools.
Student Survey Administration:
Between October 16th through November 3rd, students at all TVUSD schools in grades 3-12 will be asked to complete a survey measuring student self-efficacy, self-management, and emotion regulation, as well as their perceptions of school climate, safety, and sense of belonging.
Parent Preview:
Per Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5022: Student and Family Privacy Rights, parents have the right to preview survey content and opt their student(s) out of survey participation. Survey questions are created with students in mind, and use grade level appropriate language. Links to preview student surveys can be found by clicking the button below. Parents can also opt out of the survey by clicking on the link found in the survey newsletter. The deadline to opt out is Monday, October 9th.

TVUSD High Five Spotlight π¦
Dear TVUSD Parents and Guardians,
State law requires the governing board to notify the parent(s) or guardian(s) of minor pupils enrolled in Temecula Valley Unified School District ("District') schools of the legal rights and responsibilities pertaining to their child(ren)'s education. The governing board recognizes that the District is responsible for ensuring that it complies with State and Federal Laws and regulations governing educational programs. The District is required to give annual notification to parents and guardians regarding certain portions of the instructional program and matters related to school administration.
Each parent or guardian is required to sign that you have been informed of your rights. Your signature is an acknowledgment that you have been informed of your rights; it does not give consent for your child or ward to participate in any activity or program in the schools.
Some legislation requires additional notification to the parents or guardians during the school term prior to a specific activity. A separate letter will be sent to the parents or guardians prior to any of these specified activities or classes. Other legislation grants certain rights that are spelled out in this Annual Notification.
The governing board encourages each parent and guardian to read and know their rights under the laws governing the education of their children.1 The District and its governing board recognize that parent or guardian involvement in their child's education promotes student achievement and contributes greatly to the student's success. Parents or guardians are urged to fully exercise their rights according to the laws that are explained in this Annual Notification. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the principal of your child's school.
