Therapy Dog - Welcome Chip and his handler Megan
We are excited to share that we will be welcoming a therapy dog to Winchester again this year. Our program includes a therapy dog (on a leash with his handler) visiting Winchester once a month or more. This year we will be welcoming Chip, a Dalmatian and his handler Megan! We are thrilled to have Chip and Megan join our team. The students and staff thoroughly enjoyed our time with our former therapy dog and look forward to spending time with Chip this year.
If you have a student who is allergic or uncomfortable being around dogs, please let us know by filling out this form and they will be identified as a student who should not interact with the therapy dog. Please complete the form by Sunday, October 15th since his first visit will be on Monday, October 16th.

Meal Application
Don’t Scrap the App!
Completing the Application for Summer EBT and Education Benefits for Michigan School Meals Program may result in important resources for your student such as Summer EBT, fee waivers, and resources for classrooms! The Michigan School Meals program supplements the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program, meaning that parents of students who would otherwise be eligible for free or reduced meals should continue to submit applications for free or reduced meals for their students. Even though meals will be free this year, it is vitally important that parents who meet, or believe they may meet, the free and reduced income guidelines, submit an application to ensure maximum benefits for their students and the District.
Some of these benefits include: athletics and activities discounts for student fees associated with participating in athletics and activities programs, SAT/ACT/AP test discounts for academic testing, college application discounts for college application fees, discounted internet access services, federal/state/local school funding for school budgets, Summer EBT.
Make sure to fill yours out today https://links.northvilleschools.org/1a
Glow Week 10/26-10/31 - STEAM
Coming soon...
Glow Week (10/26-10/31) in your child's STEAM Class
The elementary Steam Teachers have partnered with Zap Zone and NEF to bring Glow Week to the makerspaces. GLOW week will take place starting on October 26th and run through Oct. 31st. ZZ, the mascot from Zap Zone will be visiting our school on October 26th. We're sure ZZ will get the kids fired up for all the fun activities they will participate in when they visit the makerspace. The makerspaces will be illuminated by blacklights, for a full GLOW experience please have your child wear white, fluorescent or neon clothing on the day that they have STEAM during Glow Week.
STEAM - Needs toilet paper and paper towel tubes
The Winchester Maker Space/STEAM Classroom is in need of cardboard toilet paper and paper towel tubes.
These are items we use all year long. Please consider setting up a routine with your family to collect them at home and send them to school with your child (every month or so) to drop off at the Maker Space for STEAM classes.
Thank you so much for your help!!

Membership and Invest in Your Child Update
Thank you for helping us reach our PTA Membership Goal!
The PTA has surpassed our goal of having 250 members of the Winchester Community join the PTA this year. If you would still like to join to receive a directory by Oct 15 click here! Membership costs $12 for one adult or $20 for 2 adults and you will receive a printed Winchester Directory.
We are so close to reaching our Invest in Your Child goal. This is our main fundraiser and it allows us to host all of the events and programs we run throughout the year. The PTA has a goal of raising $8,000. We have just surpassed $7290! Without the financial support of our members, we would not be able to bring these programs to Winchester. Your donation is tax deductible.
PTA Movie Night - Update
Hello Dragon Families,
It looks like Mother Nature is not going to cooperate with us on Friday. We are excited to announce that we will still have a family movie night in the comforts of
the Northville High School cafeteria. Bring your blankets and chairs to cozy up for a fun night!
The high school is located at 45700 6 Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48168. You can enter the main entrance and walk straight back to the cafeteria. Once there, we
ask that families stay in the cafeteria area. Please do not wander through the high school. There are bathrooms located in the cafeteria hallway. We are guests in
the high school, so we kindly ask everyone to be respectful and help clean up their area at the end of the night.
Come hungry! Bayroot Street Food Truck and The Waffle Cabin will be joining us! The Waffle Cabin will be moving inside. Bayroot will have chicken tenders and
burgers along with their regular menu. Bayroot’s menu can be found here:
https://bayrootstreetfood.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/bayrootmenu_072523_compressed.pdf
Our 5th Grade Girl Scouts will be having a bake sale prior to the movie and our Cub Scout pack will be selling popcorn. Please bring cash to support these groups.
Doors Open at 6:00 pm. The movie will start at 7:00 pm. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, you can purchase at this link:

Dad's Club Dine and Dash - Friday, October 20th
Attention all Winchester parents. The Dad's Club is happy to announce the first Dad's Club Dine and Dash of the year. For those that have had the pleasure of doing this in the past, it is one of the biggest highlights of the year. For anyone that does not know, this is a great event where dads or a special guest come to Winchester and have lunch with their little one(s). dads/special guests can bring lunch for themselves and/or their children.
Don't let the name fool you. If Dad is not available, this event is open to any important person in your child's life. One adult per child.
Join us on October 20th. Below is a breakdown of the current lunch schedules:
11:15-11:35 1st Grade
11:40-12:00 2nd Grade
12:05-12:25 Kindergarten
12:30-12:50 3rd/4th Grades
12:55-1:15 5th Grade
This is a free event and does not require registration. You must sign in at the front entrance before heading to the cafeteria.
As a reminder, dads/special guests that have multiple children will have to leave between lunches. The cafeteria will be VERY crowded so we are only allowing dads/special guests in the cafeteria during their child’s specific lunch times. So please be prepared for that! You are welcome to wait outside by the front doors or in your car in between your children’s lunch times.
If you have any questions on the Dine and Dash, email @winchesterdadsclub@gmail.com.
