Athletics 8 Years and up
Athletics - 8 years and up.
Many, many thanks to Mrs Vicki Ritchie nad Ms Nell Franklin for their organization around our Annual Athletics event held this week at IPS for our 8 years and older students. It was awesome to see so many children participating in both the events and dress ups. Thank you to all the parents and whanau that came along in support.
We extend a huge thank you to the students of Inglewood High School and the parents who volunteered their expertise and assistance on the day also, we could not run such events without your assistance - thank you.
Our 5 - 7 year olds are practising for their Athletics Day Tuesday 12 November, we look forward to seeing you here in support of the little people of our school.

Transition Hui Thursday 7 November
The attendance was outstanding and I was receiving positive feedback while I was at BoT Strategic Planning training at the same time.
We are developing a common language within IPS as we move to focus working in whanau teams (not year levels) as year levels may be mixed from 2020.
Within this common language we are making deliberate actions around our Kāhui Ako and IPS Strategic Goals around transitions - hence the name of the evening to now be a ‘Transition evening”
We will discuss further opportunities to provide support to ease transitions into, within and out of, other whanau teams at IPS.
Farewell to Staff
We have also learned that Mr Clint Frost is leaving us after beginning his craft as a teacher four years ago. Clint has brought a wealth of expertise and enthusiasm to IPS, especially in the area of hockey and cricket. Clint has been coached into a leadership role within our Cultural Proactiveness Team, gaining many opportunities to attend various conferences and hui to extend his knowledge and thinking within this area. Clint will be joining the teaching team at Highlands for 2020, we wish both Maia and Clint all the very best.
It is with a heavy heart, I also inform you that Mrs Vicki Ritchie is leaving us after twenty years of teaching and leading at IPS. Vicki has not made this decision lightly, however has made the decision as the stress and demand of her role of Associate Principal and at times, Acting Principal, has taken its toll on her health and wellbeing.
Vicki is a highly skilled practitioner in all areas of the curriculum. Vicki has provided learning opportunities which compliment and extend the thinking of both students and adults. Vicki's quiet humble approach to all she does, means often people do not notice all she does each and every day.
We hope to get the Bike Track Stage 1 completed before Vicki leaves us as it was her initiative which started this project. Vicki's students have always thought highly of her, especially the quirks and enthusiasm she brings to every lesson. Her Japanese Language Camps, hikes up the Mountain, Fit Club, EOTC initiatives, Ground Crew and Envio Team to name a few will be missed. Vicki's attention to detail and dancing prowess is going to be missed at the Dinner Dance, we aim to make this one a very special one for her last dance
Vicki is a collaborative Leader who provides insight and wisdom within the Leadership discussions. Vicki has enjoyed coaching and mentoring many, many staff members over the years. There is so much more to say about the tireless contribution that Vicki has given to IPS over the years, which will be shared publicly at the End of Year Assemblies.
Both of Vicki and Doug's children attended IPS and have also been strong advocates and support to their Mum and IPS over the years. Vicki's husband Doug has been on our Board of Trustees and is a behind the scenes supporter of all Vicki does.
Thank you Vicki, you will be sorely missed. We wish you, Doug, Amelia and Josh all the very best. Vicki is moving to Lepperton School where she will enjoy 'simply teaching in the year 4-6 hub there.
Welcome to 2020 Staff
Mrs Brooke Gibson is returning to us as an Associate Principal 2020. Brooke has held this role in the past when Mrs Vicki Ritchie won a Study Award for 2018. Brooke has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of the school. Brooke will oversee the Year 1-4 area of the school and have responsibility for Assessment and Mutukaroa amongst other areas to be confirmed. We are fortunate to have Brooke back with us in this role.
We also can confirm Mrs Candice Bailey, Mr Rangi Adams, Mrs Libby O'Connor and Mrs Michaela Krook are joining our permanent teaching team here at IPS. All of these teachers are currently teaching full time within the Panitahi (Junior) and Waiongana iti (Senior) area of the school . We are delighted they are remaining with us.
We welcome new members to our teaching and learning team also. Mrs Tracy White is joining us as Puke Haupapa Team Leader. Tracy come to us from Stratford Primary where she demonstrates she is a highly skilled practitioner in the craft of teaching and learning. Tracy has many strengths including digital technology, Japanese, sport and inquiry based learning.Tracy has held many leadership roles including Across School Teacher for Kāhui Ako Central Taranaki.
Ms Katherine Banks is joining us in Puke Haupapa to start her teaching career. Katherine is an ex student of Inglewood Primary School and brings a genuine care and enthusiasm to teaching and learning. Katherine holds a conjoint degree in Bachelor of Teaching and Health, Sport and Humanities. Katherine has strong values and ties to her family. Katherine is a highly skilled athlete and is passionate about sport and wellbeing.
Mr Rob Wheatley is also joining our Puke Haupapa team, coming from Highlands. Rob has strengths in technology, science and international languages. Rob is also a Children's Cross Fit Instructor which will add value to our Health and Wellbeing programme. Rob enjoys singing, drama and sports also.
I am sure you will welcome our new staff and make them feel at home here at Inglewood Primary School.

A few of your students at Inglewood Primary School may be participating which is great and we hope your school will be supporting them in their prospects.
