Hello Dent Dolphin Families,


It is a joy to work with your children each day. We hope you have many opportunities to pause and enjoy the blessings of laughter and wonder that young children can bring to a family during this holiday season.


Friday is our last day together until schools reopen on Tuesday, January 2. The next issue of The Dent Dolphin Details will be shared on Monday, January 1st.


Please accept our heartfelt wishes for a happy, healthy winter break. We look forward to seeing you all in 2024!

Holiday Harmony Night

Thank you to all who joined us for Holiday Harmony Night! The event was a huge success and a reminder of what a wonderful school community we have at LMDES.


Many thanks to all who donated to the silent auction and to Mrs. Kim Edwards for coordinating the event. Special thanks to our PTA for running our Secret Santa Shop, providing snacks and hot cocoa, and creating fun crafts for us.

LMDES Renovation Update

Classroom Moves

The first phase of our limited renovation is complete! The classrooms look amazing!


The following classes will be moving into the newly renovated rooms this week:

  • 5th Grade: Amato, Hughes, Warder
  • 4th Grade: Deighan
  • 3rd Grade: Kemp


The following classes will be moving into the learning cottages while their spaces are renovated:

  • 3rd Grade: Frill, Jilek, Repenning


The next phase of our renovation is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 18.

SMCPS is once again offering School-Based Counseling Support in the evening for SMCPS students. Counseling support focuses on the following areas: Healthy Relationships, Social Skills, Self-Esteem, Stress Management, Worry, Sadness, and Emotional Regulation. Services will be located at Margaret Brent Middle School and Greenview Knolls Elementary School on Tuesday evenings from 4-7:30 p.m. Please complete the Parent Contact Form for Evening Counseling to request services.

Student Laptops

All SMCPS laptops come with the same responsibility of care and upkeep as any other loaned resources. Textbooks, novels, laptops and chargers can incur a debt if lost or damaged. Please refer to the student accountability newsletter that will be included in each weekly school newsletter.
