College Credit Plus Information
Gahanna Lincoln High School will be virtually hosting their annual College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Student and Parent meeting on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 6:30-8:30pm. College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The links for the virtual sessions are as follows:
6:30-7:30pm - CCP information from central Ohio college and university partners
7:30-8:30pm - GJPS CCP specific information
As shared on the Ohio Department of Higher Education's website, "the purpose of [the CCP] program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families." More information about the program can be found on the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s website.
Please Have a Conversation With Your Child
I urge every family to have a conversation with their children about the use of the 'N' word. Even though the number of times this comes to the office is few, I am sure I do not hear of each time this is used by one of our students. To be clear, this word does not have any place in our school and is the most emotion-filled word in the English language. There are times that students, not fully appreciating the power in their words, choose to use it. Sometimes among their friends, sometimes asking another for permission and at times within earshot of others. In each case, other students hear this word being used and make judgements about the student who uses it. As a society, we need to aim high... this is one of those times. Please speak to your child about this and ALL types of racially targeted language. All of our students need to hear that this type of language is not acceptable. If you hear about something that needs to be addressed specifically, please let one of the building administrators know.

6th Grade Update
- Scheduling for 2024-25 school year: Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Uniacke will be visiting current 6th grade students to go over 7th grade scheduling information beginning on Friday, 1/12 during ELA classes. Class options and other information will be provided to students and parents following the visits. *Course requests will be due electronically by Friday, 1/19.
- Sixth grade desperately needs boxes of tissues! Please send in a box if you are able because we requested less at the beginning of the year due to space constraints/construction. Thanks in advance!
- Our book signature policy will be slightly adjusted this semester- two book signatures in a week (rather than 3) will result in an after-school detention. Book signatures are given for not meeting expectations of being respectful, ready, or responsible and can be viewed by parents/guardians in Infinite Campus under “documents.” Your child is aware when they receive a book signature.
7th Grade Update
7th Design & Modeling - Students have been challenged to create an ankle foot orthosis for a patient with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Students will present their orthosis on Wednesday.
ACE 7/8 is studying slope and how fractions impact the slope of a line. We are working on using linear equations to create a stained glass window.
Book Signatures: The new book signature cycle for 7th grade students starts today. The cycle will run from 1/16 to 2/2. Remember, all book students can be viewed on infinite Campus!
8th Grade Update
Math classes are sending home a letter to talk about Honors Algebra 1. Please have your student return by Tuesday, January 16th if your child opts in for Honors Algebra 1.
We will still happily take any Kleenex donations you can provide! Thanks in advance for your generosity.
