Week Ahead
Week of November 19th - November 25th
A Note from Principal Hill
Thank you all for a wonderful start to our school year. We are so proud of the way the teachers and students have approached learning the new curriculums in math and ELA. As we close out November I want to let you all know of some changes we are making to our report cards. We are continuing to assess students using the MA state standards. Here are a few changes you should be aware of:
- Standards will be grouped into topics or strands
- Homework completion will be reported as a percentage.
- Grades will be based on end of term expectations
- Grades will be on 1-4 scale with a 3 being meeting grade level expectations and a 4 being exceeding grade level expectations.
Term 1 closes on December 1st
Report Cards and Progress Notes will go home on Friday, December 8th.
Character in Action
Gratitude to our Community Action Partners
This weekend a team of Oak Ridge families participated in our Community Action Day. During this event our 7C's class partners with the Council on Aging to rake leaves and do yard clean up for senior citizens in our community in need of this help. We had around 100 volunteers who were able to complete 17 yards on Sunday. More helpers came from Forestdale, SHS National Honor Society, and many more siblings too! Thank you to Kristin MacDonald for organziing this annual event.
