Week of June 14th
I hope that everyone had a great weekend!
As we enter the last week of school, I would like to take the time to sincerely thank the entire NPS community for their ongoing partnership. This year, students learned differently- virtually and in-person. Through hard work and perseverance, students continued to grow academically and social emotionally. There are many lessons we can bring forth with us next year, as we continue to learn and grow.
Please note that next year, NPS will transition back to our multi-age model. I am excited for the return to multi-age.
Last week, students participated in Field Day. Despite the heat, students had fun participating in a variety of fitness and game stations. In addition, on Thursday and Friday, our 5th graders celebrated their moving up ceremonies with teachers, classmates, and families! Congratulations and best of luck to all our 5th graders as they embark on their journey to middle school! Thank you to our HSA Moving Up Parent Committee for supporting such a great event!
Our last day of school for this school year is June 17th, 2021. Report Cards and iReady Reports will be sent home via backpack. Virtual students will receive this information through the mail.
MSD will continue to share important information on the Coronavirus Update Center and on our MSD Forward pages.
Please know that I am here to help and support in any way that I can. I will continue to keep the community posted on updates throughout the summer. I will be in the office, so please feel free to contact me via e-mail or phone.
Field Day 2021
This year, NPS hosted Field Day on June 7th and June 9th.
A big thanks to Mr. Duffus for organizing and running Field Day for all of our students! Thank you to all our specialists and staff who worked Field Day stations today. Thank you to our office staff and Officer Doug for helping with Field Day arrival and dismissal.
Chromebook Information
All students currently enrolled in grades K-11 will keep their district-issued Chromebook over the summer and bring it to school with them in September.
Please keep Chromebooks in their cases (if issued) and avoid extreme temperatures.
Please know that all Chromebook usage is tracked over the summer and that the Chromebooks should be used for educational purposes only.
If you need assistance with your child’s Chromebook over the summer, please visit the MSD Virtual Learning Hub and submit a technology help ticket here.
If you would like the Morris School District to store your child’s Chromebook over the summer, please contact the school they currently attend.
***If your child was issued a MiFi (wireless internet access) - the MiFi must be returned to the school that issued the MiFi on or before June 11, 2021. If your child is attending an academic Morris School District Summer Program, the MiFi can be kept until next school year.***
Grab & Go Meals (Update)
Grab & Go meals will be available for all students, who wish to receive them. The Federal Department of Agriculture has extended waivers that will allow MSD to serve ALL students meals for FREE through June 2021.
REMINDER: Students who are not attending school in person can pick up free breakfast and lunch at Morristown High School (at the rear circle by the flagpole off of Atno Avenue) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. There will be two service times, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and again from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Communication between Home and School
- If there are changes in your child's dismissal plans (e.g. you are going to pick them up that day, instead of taking the bus), please use the attached form or call the main office.
- For written communication between you and your child's teacher, please utilize Class Dojo and/or e-mail, rather than hand-written letters (when possible).
