GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
New: Share feedback on facilities recommendations through December 7
Our school district is facing an important decision on facilities that has implications for every school in the district. The administration wants to hear from as many stakeholders as possible before making a final recommendation to the School Board, so it has extended the deadline to submit feedback online through December 7. View a presentation about the recommendations and process, and share your feedback online.
Over the past year and a half, a district Facilities and Equipment Steering Committee reviewed existing facilities and needs in every area and developed a Facilities Master Plan with three phases of possible improvements over the next 10-plus years. The administration presented phase one improvements as preliminary recommendations under new business at the November 14 regular School Board meeting. Approximately 170 people attended three dialogue meetings on facilities held earlier this month, one each in Rosemount, Apple Valley and Eagan.
A summary of the input provided at the dialogues and online will be presented at the December 12 regular School Board meeting. The administration will use the input to guide its final recommendations for a district Facilities Master Plan, which will be presented as old business at the January 9 regular board meeting. The board will then decide whether to call for a bond referendum question, for which improvements and for how much.

UPCOMING COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY VISITS
Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. These university/college or military visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20/30 minutes. Eastview Boys Hockey vs. St. Thomas Academy (STA) Cadets – November 30, 2022
The Lighting put up a valiant effort but fell to the Cadets on Wednesday evening 0-3 at the Apple Valley Sports Arena. The Lightning had a goal by Reed Ellingson #14 reversed in the first few minutes of the game on an offside call. Otherwise, there was no scoring in the first period with the Cadets out shooting Eastview 14-9. Late in the 2nd period, the Cadets got on the board first at 14:37 when their Captain, Tommy Cronin, beat Jay Svaren in the slot, Svaren’s 25th shot of the game. The Lightning failed to score but had a 2nd goal waived off midway through the 2nd period when the referee lost sight of the puck and blew a quick whistle (a puck that the Cadet Goaltender never covered). At the end of the 2nd period shots ended up 25-17 in favor of the Cadets. The 3rd period was eventful to say the least. Midway through the period Eastview took a slashing and a major penalty but managed to kill off all 7:00 minutes of penalties and even earned their own Power Play (PP) with 3 minutes to go. Unfortunately, the Lighting gave up a short-handed goal (Not due to a lack of effort by goalie Jay Svaren by trying to poke check the puck on a break-away) and trailed 0-2 with just over 2 mins left in the game. The Cadets closed the scoring with an empty net goal, making the final 0-3. Final shots for the game were 33-22 in favor of the Cadets. The Lighting fell to 2-1 on the season and look to get back in the win column against Eagan at Eagan Civic Arena next Tuesday evening.
JV SPORTS
On Wednesday night, the Eastview JV hockey team took on St. Thomas Academy. Kayden Goff was in goal for the night who had 36 saves. After the first period, the score was 1 to 0, St. Thomas. It was a scoreless 2nd period. Isaac Berberena scored and Mike Cheravatsky got the assist in the 3rd period to make the score to 1 however, St. Thomas academy had 2 goals in the 3rd period resulting in a 3 to 1 loss for the JV boys. On December 6th, they will take on the Eagan Wildcats at the Eagan Civic Arena at 5 pm.
