Case Manager and Child Study Team Updates
In addition, Eleene Gallagher, a Speech Language Pathologist at Robert Hunter retired at the end of December. Interviews are taking place to hire an SLP for Eleene's services. We will miss Eleene and thank her for her service and dedication to the students of FRSD. Kelly Robertson will begin full-time at Robert Hunter on 2/14/22.
Program Highlights
In addition, RFIS and JPCASE students have returned to Community Based Instruction in the local community. The students have had the opportunity to go food shopping at Shop Rite, practice leisure skills while bowling, ordering food and paying at Chick-Fil-A and shopping for gifts at the Dollar Tree. The District CBI leadership team has been trained through and collaborates with Rutgers Boggs Center to further develop the CBI experience for students attending FRSD.
At JP Case, we have added an upgraded kitchenette to work on many cooking and baking skills for "Tasty Tuesday" and to assist in the growth of the coffee cart program Tiger Treats Café. The students are looking forward to the next CBI experience to COSTCO to replenish items for our coffee cart and kitchen.
In addition, Special Services has added a Sensory Suite for Copper Hill students. Our sensory space has been designed to help learners feel calm, supported and focused at different times throughout the day and as their needs arise. A variety of movement options, lighting, tactile items, crash pads, trampolines and swing, along with many other options allow each child to have their own unique experiences tailored to their needs!

Extended School Year Dates for Summer 2022 and Summer Supplemental Services (Parent Interest Form Included)
In brief:
The need for Extended School Year (ESY) services are determined by the IEP team. The IEP team will review the student's progress and identify whether a continuation of educational programming is necessary to maintain skills and minimize regression. The dates for Summer 2022 Extended School Year Program are July 11th-August 11th on Mondays - Thursdays.
We are happy to offer Summer Supplemental Services this summer two days per week (between 7/11-8/11/22) for students who are not receiving ESY programming. This is not a service required by the IEP, and therefore, your interest must be expressed for programming planning. Complete this survey following your child's Annual Review IEP meeting.
