BCCA MESSENGER May 4, 2020
Harmoniously blending the work of redemption and education
Hello Brothers and Sisters,
The end of this school year has been completely unexpected to say the least. The pandemic of the coronavirus is both surprising and horrifying. Schools have shut down for the year and we have transitioned to online education. We are told to keep our distance from each other, which can make supporting one another very difficult.
Rebekah and I saw something incredible yesterday evening though. There was a huge storm that hit Huntsville yesterday and a neighbor’s tree fell onto the front part of his house. Luckily, nobody was hurt, but there was still damage to the property. By the time Rebekah and I had gotten there, around 50 neighbors were there with chainsaws and ropes to cut and drag pieces of the tree away.
It was a nice reminder that even though social distancing is the mandate, people in our neighborhood threw caution to the wind to help out. It was a good reminder to me that there will usually be a reason not to help someone, but sometimes one must ignore those reasons and help those in need. It is one of the best lessons anyone can learn in life. We strive to teach the value of doing the right thing at BCCA and encourage anyone who is interested in sending their children there next year to reach out to me (256 - 527 - 5043).
The Good Samaritan, one of my favorite stories in the Bible, ends like this:
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Jesus commands us to treat everyone as neighbors and I hope the story I shared helped illustrate what that meant.
Blessings and Be Neighborly,
Lucas

Graduation Congratulations!
Yearbooks are coming in!
Thank you for purchasing your yearbook for this school year. I'm excited to see all of our school events, and fun activities throughout the year on paper! We have a couple of extra books, so other family members & friends can order one also. Please let Mr. Smith know if you need an additional book. Thank you for being supportive throughout the school year!
Yearbooks should be in within the next 2 weeks, and arrangements will be made to receive them. Don't pack them away too soon, as later on the kids will have an opportunity to sign each others book.
Blessings,
Lisa
