Meet and Greet time!
Good Afternoon Molin Community,
We hope you are having a wonderful summer! The Molin building has been busy with summer programming. Our custodians are working diligently to have the classrooms looking shiny and new for the 2022-2023 school year.
Our 4th and 5th grade teams will be holding meet and greets on Tuesday, August 30th from 12-1. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 31st. Class placement will open in Aspen x2 on Friday, August 19th at noon.
Class placement is a complicated process and takes many hours to put together. The third grade teachers place our incoming fourth grade students into groups and we then add the teachers to the created groups. It is the same process for the 4th to 5th grade. All of the Molin teachers are highly qualified and have had significant professional development in social-emotional and trauma sensitive practices. We have an amazing, committed team of educators. We kindly ask that you do not request your child be moved from one class to another. Students have the opportunity daily to sit with friends from other classes at lunch. The individual grade levels have lunch at the same time. We also encourage the life skill of making new friends. Every class has a daily morning meeting, which is for the purpose of getting to know one another, build community, and share thoughts and ideas. Our teachers excel at creating safe, welcome, and supported classroom communities.
If there is anything we have learned through COVID, it is that our students are far more resilient and flexible than we think. They will not always have their closest friends in class, they will experience a variety of teaching styles, and they will grow throughout their educational years academically, socially and emotionally, and mentally. We look forward to playing a positive role in the lives of our students this school year!
Additional information regarding Molin procedures will be coming next week. Continue to enjoy these summer days!
