MixxedFit Monday!
Join us at Northwest (Door D), Monday, November 6th for a fun 1 hour hiphop fitness class. Move at your own ability, just come out and have some fun!
The class is $5 per person and all proceeds go to the Northwest PTO.
Doors will open at 4:45pm. Class will start 5:00pm. Wear comfortable clothing. Water, fun, and fitness will be provided! Hope to see you there.

As home reading has begun, we know our students cannot be successful without parent/guardian support. Throughout the month of November we encourage our families to take pictures of parents reading with/listening to their children. Post your pictures on Instagram and tag Northwest Elementary (@NW_Cedars) with the hashtag: #NWReadWithMe [by November 27th]
Three students and their parents will be be selected to receive a gift for participating!

Not only is reading together a great activity, cooking together can also foster healthy parent/child relationships. This can translate into students being more confident, eager to learn, and eager to succeed!

Our City, Our Cedars, & You!
🤼♂️ Lebanon Cedar Wrestling Club 🤼♂️
Lebanon Wrestling Club is open to any Lebanon School District (male or female) 6 years old through 12 years old. This program will focus on the fundamentals of wrestling; teach sportsmanship, hard work and build confidence on and off the mat. Registration fee of $50 includes team warm- ups. Tournament fees will be separate from registration fees.
Mandatory Parent Meeting: Wednesday, November 1, 2023
First practice: Wednesday, November 8, 2023
- Time: 6:15-7:30PM
- Practice Wear: Wrestling Shoes, t-shirt that covers shoulders, shorts, wrestling head gear.
- No: Jewelry, zippers, or button
Free Winter Wear Give Away
On Saturday, November 11th there will be a Free Winter Wear Give Away for both children and adults.
Time: 10am-3pm (while supplies last)

Friday, November 3rd: No School
There is no school for students Friday, November 3rd for staff inservice days. Students will return to school Monday, November 6th.
Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st: Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held:
Monday 11/20: 12pm-7:30pm
Tuesday 11/21: 8am-3:30pm
Last day to register is Friday November 3, 2023.

Monday, November 20th through Monday, November 27: Fall Break
There is no school Monday, November 20th through Monday, November 27th. There are conferences on the 20th and 21st. Students will return to school on Tuesday, November 28th.
November Days to Celebrate!
Hispanic and Native American Heritage Months!
Mrs. Jefferson offers her sincerest apologies as she did not include Hispanic Heritage month in the August/September Newsletter. Over 70% of Lebanon School District students are Hispanic and we wanted to take time to celebrate their culture and their contributions to our city and school district. Additionally, November is National Native American Heritage Month and we also want to celebrate our students and our families of Native American heritage!

Turn your clocks back 1 hour Sunday evening before you go to bed. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep 😉!
Friday, November 10th: Veterans' Day (observed) 🇺🇸
Have your child wear red, white, and blue on Friday, November 10th to honor all of our veterans past and present who have served our country.
Tuesday, November 14th: World Diabetes Awareness Day 🩸💙
Have your student wear BLUE! World Diabetes Day 2023, with its theme of 'Empowering Global Health', serves as a beacon of hope. It reminds us that by coming together, by understanding, caring, and acting, we can create a world where diabetes does not dictate our lives. So, this World Diabetes Day, let's unite!
Thursday, November 16th: International Day of Tolerance ♥️🫶🏽♥️
The International Day for Tolerance is celebrated worldwide on November 16. It is about encouraging respect, kindness and cooperation among different cultures and groups in our world community. Students will be decorating hand prints as a pledge to be kind and accepting of differences!
Friday, November 17th: Steven Courtney! ☮️
All students will attend an assembly with Steven Courtney! His songs and dances promote a message of kindness and love. Have your students wear tie dye and/or bright colors to spread the message of peace, love, and happiness! ✌🏽
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
November 11th - November 18th
At Northwest Elementary any student that donates $2 or more will receive a red bracelet and red ribbon sticker that they can wear on Friday, November 17th. Student donations will be accepted October 30th through November 16th and 100% voluntary. Bracelets and stickers will be distributed the morning of November 17th.
If there are any families who are struggling with housing and/or food insecurity, please reach out to our social workers so that our school district can can support you! Additionally, please sign up for PowerPacks (see below).

Once your note is received you will be sent an email confirmation.
After 12 tardies (late to school) and/or 3 unexcused absences students will be put on a School Attendance Improvement Plan.
