Thursday, May 5th - Grade 3-5 Art Show and Spring Concert at The Lebanon High School Gymnasium Lobby and Auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 for the Art Show and the concert begins at 6:30. Students performing in the concert need to report to the LHS Auditorium at 6:00 pm. See the flyer below for more information.

In early April, Central Tiger Cubs and staff celebrated Mr. Salsman during Vice Principal's Appreciation week by wearing some Crimson and Cream. Even those that like that "other" team were great sports. Today we celebrated Mrs. Leckrone on School Principal's Day by dressing in our Harry Potter gear. Everyone had a blast showing their appreciation to both Mr. Salsman and Mrs. Leckrone for all they do for our school!

Lebanon Community School Corporation is now accepting Kindergarten Round-Up appointments for students entering kindergarten this fall. Children are eligible for kindergarten if their fifth birthday falls on or before August 1, 2017. Students who will be five years old on or before October 1, 2022 may apply for early entrance to kindergarten in accordance with Board Policy #5112.

The process includes screening each student to assess general development. Translation services are available.

Parents or guardians should schedule an appointment at the school the student will attend in the fall. Parents should plan to bring their kindergarten student to the appointment, along with the following required documentation:

• Child’s birth certificate
• Child’s immunization record
• Proofs of residency (two forms)
• Custody documents, if applicable

Central is proud to nominate Kyla Gosewehr as Central’s final Tiger PRIDE Champion this year. She is a leader who strives to live by the 7 habits of highly effective people and all of the characteristics of Tiger PRIDE. She is respectful and a great teammate. Recently our class gained a new student, Kyla quickly offered a seat next to hers so that she could help this student adjust to our classroom. She is extremely kind, friendly, and gets along with everyone so there’s no doubt that any student would feel welcomed with a seat beside hers. Kyla is also very dependable. She frequently has her weekly classroom goals and homework complete well before they are due, all while excelling in her extracurricular activities, like softball and volleyball that she participates in outside of school. She perseveres through challenging tasks and refuses to give up, even when it is difficult. Kyla has the initiative and drive to do anything she sets her mind to do. All of us at Central are proud to send her to LMS to watch her continue to shine! Congratulations Kyla!

The Math Bowl team met Monday mornings to learn to synergize as a team and solve problems together. They then traveled to Thorntown on Tuesday April, 12th to compete against other schools. The work paid off because they placed third in our competition this year.

Third grade visited Conner Prairie to learn about how our local community has changed over time and how it has stayed the same. The third graders simulated what it would feel like to live during the civil war time period. They experienced how people, events, and developments brought important changes to our community through reenactments and engaging with people from the time period. Third graders also visited the Indian village to identify and describe how Native Americans impacted the development of the local communities.

The students worked together to design a product and make a prototype. They then pitched their ideas to 1st and 2nd graders for feedback. They made adjustments and built a product. The students designed commercials using different propaganda techniques and then created their booths to sell their products. The students then learned about supply, demand, interest, and profits when they sold their products at Kid Town.

At the end of the school year all medications must be picked up by a parent or guardian. If your student has an over the counter medication or a daily prescribed medication please make plans to pick it up the last week of May. Only emergency medications such as Epi Pens, inhalers, and emergency injectables will be sent home in the back pack. All medication not picked up by May 24, 2022 will be disposed of at the Sheriff’s department. Please contact with any questions.
