8th Grade Scheduling Meetings
On February 7th, there will be an Orientation Night from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the High
School Auditorium for 8th Grade students transitioning to the High School. This will be
the first of many opportunities your child will have to familiarize themselves with the
many aspects of student life at the HIgh School. From this meeting, your counselors at
the Middle School, Mr. McDermott and Mrs. Stack, will begin the scheduling process for
the 9th grade year. Middle School Counselors are going in to the 8th grade social studies classrooms on Thursday, February 8th to discuss the scheduling process with students. Over the next several weeks after the classroom presentations, students will then be called down to meet with their school counselor to have an individual scheduling appointment. Students will bring home a copy of their course selections for parent review. Feel free to reach out to Mr. McDermott or Mrs. Stack with any questions related to scheduling.
Mental Health/Wellness Resources
Why is mental health important?
Stronger mental health for students means they can learn better and be more likely to realize the full potential of their abilities. Students' mental health in school is a crucial part of the education system. Ultimately, students with positive mental health can build relationships more effectively, make decisions, and work together. These positive effects support the individual student and their larger community as they enter adulthood (k12.com).
