District 109 is excited to announce that, in partnership with PPS109 and Dr. Doug Bolton, we will be hosting a series of virtual parent/guardian/community workshops this Spring. We will continue this series on Thursday, April 27 at 7:00 pm, with a one-hour Zoom webinar focusing on: "Addressing The Greatest Worries of Parents & Guardians." Additional topics for the subsequent events will include:

• Understanding Children’s Hardest Moments (5/4)
  

• The Basics of Childhood Resilience (5/11)

• Collaborative Problem Solving (5/18)

A huge thanks to the hundreds of you that filled out our recent communications survey. We will be working over the coming months to process all of the feedback as part of our larger communications audit process and report back to you as the new school year starts about what we learned and our plans to serve you better!

From the Deerfield Parent Network: Parents of 8th grade students can get the inside scoop about the transition from 8th grade to DHS from DHS current students, a freshman teacher, a guidance counselor, a parent and Brian Verisario, Student Activities Director. When you enter Deerfield, you will now see Caruso 6th grader Joshua D's name on display for the world to see... he is the USA Judo Youth National Champion Intermediate in his weight class. He also qualified to compete in the Pan American Games later in the year in Lima, Peru. Way to go, Joshua!

At Wilmot, the 5th graders from Team Give rallied to raise over $2,000 for Paws For Patrick, a charity that connects young people with emotional support animals. The money came from the recent West Side Classic volleyball match featuring staff from Wilmot, South Park, and Caruso. Way to go!
