❗❗❗Safe Arrival is no longer available for reporting student absences❗❗❗
To report an absence, please click here.
Please ensure that you clearly indicate the full name of the student, the grade they are in, and the date(s) and time(s) of the absence(s). Thank you.
PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF BUS LANES AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF OUR DAY
This helps reduce traffic congestion, which, in turn, helps keep our students safe.
Please take a few minutes to complete your child's demographic forms, medical forms, and all yearly consents (FOIP, tech use, field trips) on PowerSchool.
It is important that this information be kept up-to-date every year, especially if there is a change in medical status, parent/guardian/emergency contact information, and/or address.
If you need assistance with using PowerSchool - including completing and submitting yearly consent and demographic forms online - please visit the main EICS website for instructions and helpful video tutorials.
We will conduct several safety drills at our school this fall.
These include three fire drills, one shelter-in-place drill, and one lockdown drill (with the assistance of CPS).
Early dismissals on Thursdays are now at 12:25 p.m.
The first early dismissal is on October 5th.
A few more things to note:
- Doors will open at 8:00 a.m.; students may have to wait outside if they arrive earlier.
- Grade 5 and 6 students will be expected to stay on campus for the lunch hour and will eat lunch in their homerooms.
- Grade 7 and 8's will be expected to stay on campus for the lunch hour and may eat their lunch in the Commons area with other students from their grade levels.
- All grade 5 to 8 students will be expected to go outside for recess, so please be prepared for inclement weather (i.e., appropriate clothing for the elements).

MARMOT BASIN SKI TRIP 2023:
SCHOOL ADVENTURES
Early OLMP Royals Robotics (E-ORR):
E-ORR is a new option that is available at OLMP school and we have already had our first competition. Students in Grade 9-10 are building robots to compete in a STEM type of competition.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Its goal is to provide educational opportunities for students to engage in important life skills like teamwork, communication, and project-based organization. Robotics is an ideal approach to acquiring these STEM skills as students work together to solve various engineering challenges.
Our STEM Lab activities build on fundamental robotics coding skills. Students will apply these foundational skills to solve an open-ended challenge they help to design.
If you are interested in finding out more about this program (or are interested in contributing to this program) please contact Mr. Watson at jody.watson@eics.ab.ca or call the school.

NO PICK-UP/DROP-OFF FROM STAFF PARKING LOT OR BUS LANE
Dear Parents,
Please make alternate plans for a pick-up/drop-off location as our staff parking lot is no longer available as an option. This area has become far too congested in the past and is an extreme OH & S concern.
*PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF BUS LANES AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF OUR DAY*
Please follow the flow of traffic in the student parking lot on the south side of our building. You will notice that there is no longer a "turn left" option (right turns only) when you exit the parking lot.
Alternatively, please also look at streets/locations other than the alleys that are close to our school where students can safely access our school site.
While we understand that this takes away some convenience, we are concerned about the safety of your children.
Thank you for you attention to this.
