Keeping Prosper Students Healthy
Children's Health has been incredibly responsive during our partnership to supply assistance to meet the needs of Prosper ISD students. The Telehealth program provides on-campus physician visits based upon the recommendation of the campus RN and with parent approval. The TeleBehavioral health program has provided almost 500 behavioral health virtual visits for almost 200 students, all at no cost to the student or their family.
Through the Andrews Institute, Children's Health has provided a sports concussion provider and an orthopedic surgeon at 99 events in 2020 as well as providing on-site x-ray services at Children's Health Stadium.
We look forward to our ongoing partnership with Children's Health as they continue to develop more ways to collaborate with the district and the campuses to meet the needs of Prosper ISD students.

Destruction of Records
Special Populations records which have been collected by the Prosper Independent School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of Special Populations services in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for a period of five years after Special Populations services have ended for the student. Special Populations services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, moves from the district, and/or completes his or her educational program at age 22. School Health and Related Services (SHARS) providers must maintain records for at least seven years because they are both Medicaid and educational records.
After this period, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc.
This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Prosper Independent School District’s Special Populations Department’s intent to begin destroying records/folders in June 2021 for the school years prior to and including the 2013-2014 school year. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise.
With proof of identity, the parent/guardian of a minor or an eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records in person or by mail.
