A Message from Principal Jackson
I hope everyone is staying safe and cool during this heat wave in the District! It has been so great to see some of our families making use of the playground during school hours.
While we had hoped to be able to begin sharing and discussing what school will look like in August we are still waiting. For those who did not see it, the Mayor announced that they are monitoring the health data and will make an announcement about school reopening on July 31st. In the meantime, we continue to monitor the guidelines from OSSE and await DCPS guidelines about health and safety procedures. Once the re-opening announcements are made we will begin to share out the plans for SY 20-21.
This weekend, the Miner Mutual Aid Network will be hosting an event in the parking lot at Miner. Please see the details below and stop by if you are in need or assistance, able to provide assistance, or want to volunteer.
The last big announcement for this week is that the aftercare enrollment that was slated to open this coming Monday (July 27) has been postponed and will be rescheduled, as appropriate, after the Mayor announces the school reopening plans.
Be sure to stay safe and let us know if we can do anything to support during this time!
DCPS Schools remain closed to normal business at this time and teachers are on leave so if you need anything from the school, here are the best contacts to use:
Enrollment: MinerESEnroll@k12.dc.gov
Principal Jackson - bruce.jackson@k12.dc.gov
Ms. Offor - uchenna.offor@k12.dc.gov
Stay safe and let the school know if we can be of any assistance.
Respectfully,
Principal Jackson
