The Meadowbrook yearbooks have arrived and will be given to students next week. If you missed the deadline to order; we do have a limited number of copies available for purchase. Cost is $19.50 and cash or check, made payable to Harmann Studios can be brought to the office by your child if you would like to purchase one.

Please remember to stop in the Meadowbrook office and pick up your child's medication. State Law prohibits us from sending it home with your child. Medication that is not picked up by Friday, June 16th will be disposed of by our District Nurse. If you have any questions, feel free to email bettmaso@hssdschools.org.

A special shout out to the following students who were recognized for following the Bulldog Way!

James T. I am so proud of James, and how he has used his leadership voice this year to encourage his classmates to make good choices. He consistently reminds others to follow classroom expectations in a kind and helpful way. But most importantly, he uses his voice to stand up for others to make sure that people are being treated in a kind and respectful way. I am so proud of James for using his leadership skills to remind others to be kind and do the right thing. Way to go, James!

Hadley P. Hadley goes above and beyond to show Habit 1: Be Proactive. All year, she has taken her classroom job seriously by always remembering to water the plant in our classroom without needing reminders. She offers assistance to students coming back into the classroom that may have missed directions or learning while they were gone so that they would not be confused on what the class was doing. Hadley often anticipates tasks that her teacher may need help with and offers to help. She really does an outstanding job of being a leader in being proactive!

Lettuce turn up our salad bars! School Nutrition is excited to showcase and serve the freshest greens - we will have two different types: Green Star Lettuce and Coastal Romaine on the school salad bars for students to enjoy.

This lettuce is grown and harvested from the new hydroponic systems located around the district - from cafeterias to classrooms - students get to watch the process and growth! Fresh quality and local greens for the students!

FREE Meals in the Parks: Please reference the flyer for the days and times our School nutrition team will be feeding meals in the parks this summer. We look forward to serving you!

Current second and third grade students learned about our Reading Olympics program recently during their library visits. Please review this information with your child. All interested students can stop in the library and pick up a packet of information. Please email Mrs. Michelle Wick at michwick@hssdschools.org with any questions. Thanks!

~ Please make it a priority to attend the last meeting of the year. We will be voting on Board Members and will discuss money to be spent for the students. We will also learn about what to expect for next year

This past month we have been able to give out over 5,000 pounds of food to families! We also provide families with household and personal care items.The generous donations that come in make all the difference in stocking our shelves and supporting HSSD students and their families!! We also had over 665 volunteer hours last month including the many hours served for our Taste of the Villages and Auction!

The National Railroad Museum is hosting a Girl’s STEM Leadership Camp for girls ages 9-15 on June 6, July6, OR August 2. Visit their website for more information.

Registration is now open for East River Pop Warner Football! The program is open to students aged 7-12 and runs August- October at Willow Creek Park.
