Walnut Street Wildcat Newsletter

Our week in review...
October is on its way!
Dear Wildcat Families,
Thank you for all that attended Back to School Night last night! It was great seeing all of our families touring the school, meeting our incredible staff, and seeing what Wildcat pride is all about! We had an exceptional week.
Picture Day was held on Tuesday and Wednesday and our students looked awesome! iReady diagnostic assessments are wrapping up and we look forward to our Week of Respect and the PTO Book Fair next week.
Our Week of Respect is vitally important to our school climate and culture. Our school safety team has worked together to plan an incredible week aimed at anti-bullying awareness and initiatives. There will be public service videos, an anti-bullying pledge, anti-bullying lessons, and other important activities aimed at positive behavior and fostering upstanders. These initiatives will continue throughout the year so that all of our students can continue to feel safe and respected. Below, please see our themed dress days for our Week of Respect.
Our first PTO meeting will be held on October 3rd. Please visit the PTO corner section of our newsletter to view details of upcoming events. We have included details about our upcoming Fall Festival. Please check out the details and sign up!
Related to our weekly newsletters, we will be mixing new content with 'old' content, meaning some content will remain on our newsletters because they are either open events or there is information that will be needed year round (ParentSquare instructions, Code of Conduct, etc.). Please feel free to share the newsletter link with those who may be interested!
Our PBSIS positive behavioral initiative continues! Students continue to receive ROAR tickets for being responsible, respectful, and safe (see all the tickets below)!! Let's recognize our teacher winners this week: Mrs. Hankins and Mrs. Mrs. Edwards-Cruz, pictured below with past winner Mrs. Coe! They were recognized for being helpful and for going above and beyond for our students and their colleagues. Congratulations!
Finally, Mr. Ben Kleiner is pictured below for winning our staff Name That Tune contest that we do every Friday. He correctly named the song: Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain?' (This was not a coincidence).
Roar with pride Wildcats!
Vest-A-Cop Donation
Thank you to our entire school community for their generous donation to our Toms River Police Department! We are still accepting community donations until the end of next week. Thank you!
