23'-24' WSPMS Teacher of the Year
Jenn Miller - 7th Grade Science Teacher
Congratulations to Ms. Miller!
We would like to recognize Ms. Miller, Science 7, as our WSPMS Teacher of the Year! Ms. Miller has a heart for all students and believes that all students are capable of learning when they are welcomed, cared for, and appreciated. Ms. Miller actively engages her students in the nature of science while she fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. Furthermore, she goes above and beyond to do whatever it takes for Pence, whether that means covering other classes for teachers who are out, caring for homebound students, or offering a community service-based summer camp. We are truly appreciative of Ms. Miller as she is deserving of this recognition.

Ruri-Teens in December
During the month of December, our Ruri-Teens were busy sharing their warm hands and caring hearts. Members helped to spread holiday cheer in the Bridgwater Parade with our Bridgewater Ruritans. We served hot chocolate and cookies, and met Rudy Bear at the Clover Hill Ruritan Tree Lighting. We had the perfect day sharing smiles, as members rang the bell for the Salvation Army. Once again, we had a blast at the Bridgewater Retirement Community playing holiday games with the residents. We love having opportunities to give back to others, and we can't wait to see what the new year brings!

Hello, and Happy New Year!
I wanted to share that again this year, The GIANT Company is partnering with Rockingham County Public Schools to support students facing food insecurity. From January 1 through March 31, everyone who shops at Martin's in Harrisonburg will be invited to "round up" at the register and donate the round-up amount of their bill to support Feeding School Kids. The GIANT Company will directly support customers' generosity by matching all donations up to $100,000.
Last year, RCPS Food & Nutrition Services received a generous $6,985.67 to reduce outstanding student meal debt and received numerous non-perishable food donations donated by Martin's customers that were distributed to families in need around the district.
Thank you for your support!
