Our Second Quarter Volunteer Reports have been generated and will be sent home to all of our Service Scholarship families. Exactly 2,000 volunteer hours have been reported to date. Thank you so much for your gift of time!

Over the span of the next two weeks we will be administering the Scantron Performance Series tests for Math and Reading for all students in grades 2-8. These tests are computer-adapted assessments aligned to the curriculum standards of the Archdiocese of Washington. The assessments identify students' ability levels, demonstrate academic growth over time, and provide information for placing students in appropriate instructional programs. Teachers can immediately access the test results, allowing them to evaluate their teaching practices and adjust instructional methods accordingly.

Students will be completing their Math Scantron in the morning tomorrow Wednesday, January 19th.

The following week, students in grades 2-8 will be taking their Reading Scantron in the morning on Tuesday, January 25th.

Please be sure your children get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast before each test.

The February lunch menu is currently open! Orders can be placed until January 24th. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Rutherford at fawslunch@fatherandrewwhite.org.

Important Reminder: If there is a delayed opening, there will be no hot lunch for that day.

Catholic Schools Week starts January 30th. To kick off the weeklong celebration, each of our three parishes will highlight our school at the Masses that weekend. This year we are only having our students speak at the end of Mass. Please sign up your child to speak by emailing us at fawnews@fatherandrewwhite.org.

Out of parish families are cordially invited to share in the liturgical celebration at St. Aloysius (Leonardtown), St. Francis Xavier (Compton), or Our Lady’s (Medley’s Neck). More information and a schedule of all the week’s events will be sent home in the upcoming weeks.

This year, in light of COVID-19, we are only able to offer private tours by appointment. Our Open House to invite interested new families to visit our wonderful school will be held on Tuesday, February 1st between the hours of 3 - 6pm. We appreciate that our families are the best ambassadors for FAW and your word of mouth about our school is the best PR we have! Please help us get the word out about our Open House to all prospective families and friends! Our annual Italian Dinner will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 4-7pm as a drive-thru event. ll are invited! The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 4-12, and free for 3 and under. This includes delicious spaghetti, homemade meatballs, garlic bread, bottled water, and dessert. Please see the flyer for more details!

Do you have an announcement you’d like to put in our weekly bulletin? Or perhaps you went to a FAW event and you’d like to share some information. We have created an email where you can send pictures, blurbs, etc. This will help us get new items in our bulletin, on our lobby TV, and on our website. By the end of March, any family who has accepted reduced tuition in exchange for volunteer hours is required to earn at least $50 in rebates through the SCRIP program. Please note, this is $50 in rebates which requires the purchase of around $1,000 to $1,500 in face value gift cards.

The Annual Brown Bag Auction, one of FAW's most exciting events, is right around the corner in early February! We are asking for your help as we prepare these fun, themed baskets. Please keep the Brown Bag Auction in mind if you received a duplicate gift or you find an amazing after Christmas deal! We would love any new, unopened items you would like to donate and we will build the item into one of the themed baskets. As you may know, Father Andrew White School has an Annual Giving Campaign, where we reach out to families, alumni, and local parishioners to raise funds for the school. This year, we are raising funds to "Pave the Way for Kids to Play" as we transition the rear parking lot into an enjoyable recess area for our students. A letter will be sent home in the coming weeks. Thank you for prayerfully considering donating to this important fund that directly benefits our children.

God has blessed each of us with various talents. Are you able to share yours with Father Andrew White School? We are looking for some help from individuals and/or businesses to improve our physical campus.
