Tumuaki Update
Kia ora e te whānau,
The spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie was in full swing at Waikari Primary School's recent athletics day, where students showcased their athletic prowess and unwavering determination. Amidst cheers and applause, I was very impressed with how our young athletes took on every challenge with enthusiasm and resilience, embodying the true essence of sportsmanship.
Mrs Florance and I were extremely proud of the perseverance and determination displayed by our Waikari students. There was not one event where a Waikari student said "I can't do this." A huge congratulations to all of you.
A special note of gratitude goes out to Kerry, the mastermind behind the event's seamless organization, and the FAST team for organising a sizzling BBQ.
As the school term approaches halfway, we encourage parents and guardians to stay informed of upcoming events and activities by regularly checking the school newsletter and Skoolloop. We aim to get information out as soon as possible.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Waikari community for their unwavering support and involvement in making our school a vibrant and nurturing environment for our young learners. Your contributions are invaluable in shaping the future of our students.
Ngā Mihi Nui,
Phoebe Todd

Athletics Day
On Tuesday Omihi and Greta Valley Schools came to athletics.
First we lined up in our year groups. Then I walked across to the outstandingly enormous domain to do discus. We got two throws but I didn't get placed.
After that we did high jump, I jumped 1m 5cm. I came first. After that we approached the long jump pit. I became victorious in the long jump.
At that moment I sprinted to shot-put, I came third equal. Then we did long distance but I didn't get placed. After lunch we did sprints and I did notget placed.
It was hot, sunny and I felt exhausted.
