St. Luke Weekly Memo
May 30, 2021
Leadership Message
What a great week to have students return back and a fantastic weekend to enjoy our great outdoors! It is hard to believe that this week is the first week of June. This week we will begin our preparations for transitioning our students to the next grade and to ABJ for our grade 8 students. We will virtually welcome Strathcona County to our grade 4 and grade 8 classrooms to talk to students about what transitions will look like and how to prepare to enter the next grade. They will cover topics such as friendships, lockers, class changes and fitting in, along with how to cope with the stress of something new and how to reach out for support. We recognize that for some students change can be unsettling but with support we can make this transition time a time to look forward to.
This past week, students spent time in the presence of our Lord. We welcomed Father Jim to our school to prepare our hearts and our minds for Adoration with Mass. Thank-you to the grade 4 students who did a beautiful job leading the celebration and to our school Chaplains Mrs. Damur and Mrs. Kroeker for all their hard work in preparing our students for this special event.
Have a fantastic week,
Cathy Hinger
