January 2024
Principal's Message
Welcome back and happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break. It is hard to believe we are into a new calendar year and almost through half of the school year. We are working through our winter MAP testing and there is one week left of the 2nd quarter. December 20th was a fun time for students and staff alike. Check out some of the photos below. Hopefully, your student had as much fun as I did. I wish you all a wonderful 2024 and 2nd half of the school year. GMS has had a great 2023 and is building momentum to continue the fun and success in 2024. Thank you to our Green Local Schools Board Members, as January is school board recognition month. We are excited to also recognize a few students of the month at this month's board meeting on January 29th. As always, let me know if there is a way we can help. Have a great weekend!
Evan Elliott

Every year, PTA honors the dedication of those in our district who exemplify the mission of PTA: to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. We need your answers! Each PTA gives three awards to those who exemplify PTA. Who do you think PTAs' the hardest? (Deadline Jan. 24th) - PTA Awards (2023 - 2024)

Team Building Day
On Wednesday, December 20th, GMS had a fun filled team building day. Activities ranged from making cards for children at Akron's Children's Hospital, writing positive words to others to hang throughout the building, playing "Name that Tune" and other fun games. The day ended with teams playing Minute to Win It games, Mr. Elliott getting pies to the face and a huge teacher vs. student mat ball game! What a great way to head into winter break!
