Schoolwide Attendance Goal
Our goal is that we will have at least 95% daily average attendance 13 out of 17 school days in November. If we meet our goal we will have a schoolwide celebration!
So far, we have 4 out of 17 school days where we have met our goal of 95% of students in attendance!
I mentioned last week that Monday and Fridays seem to be more challenging...Monday we met our goal, but today (Friday) was the lowest daily average that we have had all year. Let's get back on track next week!
We can't wait to see you next Wednesday!

SCHOOL-WIDE T-SHIRT ORDER!
Silver Springs Families~
Recently we asked all students to submit designs for a school-wide t-shirt contest! These t-shirts can be worn at all school-wide assemblies, class field trips, Leadership Day (12/15) and on NEST days (students working together on community building activities).
To express our school unity, we are hoping that every student and staff member order one t-shirt to be worn on the days listed above. These t-shirts will be used for the next two years, so please order the size accordingly.
ORDERS AND PAYMENT OF ONLY $5 ARE DUE BY NOVEMBER 8TH. If you have any questions or if ordering this t-shirt presents a financial hardship for your family, please contact Tanya Murphy at (murphyta@northvilleschools.org) in the front office for assistance.

Don’t Scrap the App!
The Michigan School Meals program supplements the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program, meaning that parents of students who would otherwise be eligible for free or reduced meals should continue to submit applications for free or reduced meals for their students. Even though meals will be free this year, it is vitally important that parents who meet, or believe they may meet, the free and reduced income guidelines, submit an application to ensure maximum benefits for their students and the District.
Some of these benefits include: athletics and activities discounts for student fees associated with participating in athletics and activities programs, SAT/ACT/AP test discounts for academic testing, college application discounts for college application fees, discounted internet access services, federal/state/local school funding for school budgets, Summer EBT.
Make sure to fill yours out today https://links.northvilleschools.org/1a

The directory will come in two formats:

2. An electronic edition – this will be a searchable PDF format, posted on the password-protected PTA member portal. Access to the online version will only be for PTA members – a perk of membership!
The contact information that will be included (unless you opt out) will be:

Habit #2 Begin with the End in Mind- "I have a plan"
What this means: Have a mission, a clear sense of where you want to go. Think about the end first- how are you going to get there?
“I plan ahead and set goals.”
“I do things that have meaning and make a difference”
“I am important part of my classroom.”
“I look for ways to be a good citizen.”
How can I do this in my life?

2. Lay out your clothes for tomorrow the night before.
3. Write down 3 goals you want to accomplish.

IB Lunch & Learn, K-5 parents
K-5 Parents/Guardians - Please join us on November 28th, 12:00 at Northville High School for a Lunch & Learn focused on our International Baccalaureate Programme in Northville Schools. IB strives to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect, alongside a healthy appetite for learning and excellence. MYP (Middle Years Programme) is a curriculum framework which supports all students grades 6-10. Both Meads Mill and Hillside middle schools are accredited; therefore, each student is considered an MYP student.
Come learn more about the IB Programme and have your questions answered. Dr Sandra Brock, Director of Instructional Programs & Services and Dr. James Davis, IB Coordinator and teacher at Northville High School will begin the presentation at 12:00pm at Northville High School. A parent panel will also share their experiences with the IB Programme.
Lunch will be provided but seats are limited, registration available and required to attend. You will receive a confirmation email upon completion of this registration form to confirm your seat.
Questions can be emailed to Tanya Pitkin, pitkinta@northvilleschools.org
