Argyle West Counselors Earn Prestigious State Honor
Two Argyle West Elementary counselors have earned prestigious state recognition.
Marjorie Edge and Heather Kennedy were recently honored by the Texas School Counselor Associations as West Elementary received the CREST award for 2021-2022. The award is given to an elite group of schools from across the state for excellence in counseling. CREST winners demonstrate a commitment to using the Texas Model to improve the lives and achievement of students in academic, career, and personal social domains.
“Our counselors do an excellent job on a daily basis,” West Elementary Principal Renee Funderburg said. “This is one aspect of their desire to continuously improve their practice and the services they provide our students, parents, and community. The award is a culmination of their hard work to follow the expectations set forth by the state. The state recognizes about 100 schools for this award and we are very proud to be one of them.”
