Tech Project
Louie Pacell and Logan Green
Our Goal
Since the new library will be opening soon, we need some more furniture. We decided to create a piece of furniture that will benefit the library and the students that go there. We chose to create a mini table that has a mounted charging station. This will help students use this space so that they could do their work and sit and relax at the same time. If they need to charge their computer, this table will be a good way to help them out!
The Base
This is the base of the table. It has the same design as a picnic table. On the bottom of the base will be the mounted charger strip.
The legs
Here shows the working progress of the legs being worked on.
The Main tool
This is the main tool in the maker space that we used. It is called a chopsaw.
The steps we took
To start, we created a design using lucid press and decided on what we were going to do.
Then we started to build the base/ table top. We used 4 1x3's and three 2x4's as the top. We used nails from the maker space and nailed it all together. Once the top was done, we worked on the legs. We took two 2x4's and made them into and X and screwed them together. We made two sets for both sides of the table as legs.
Throughout this project, the tools we used was the chopsaw, screw gun, nail gun, nails and screws.
