Word of the Day With Ms. Brosier's Class
Ms. Brosier's incredible first-grade class at Gaston Elementary School teamed up with us for a special project just before the end of the school year. Thanks to their participation, we're excited to share a fun "Word of the Day" video series on Facebook this summer! A big shout-out goes to BMHS Senior Anahi Arroyo for her fantastic vocals in the video intro.
Class of 2024 Graduation Festivities
We celebrated our Class of 2024 graduates with a Victory Tour on Thursday, June 6, followed by a Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, June 8.

June 2024 All-Stars
The All-Star Award gives us the opportunity to recognize and thank staff members for their outstanding passion and dedication to our students and families. This quarterly award holds special significance as it's driven by nominations from fellow staff members.

Rock County Externship Program
We are #BeloitProud of our BMHS and BLA educators who participated in the Rock County Externship program. Their experiences and collaboration with various companies will enrich their teaching. Here’s to our staff and the participating companies: Brian Michels at CCI; James Hansel at Scot Forge; Sarah Schwarm at Rock County Public Health; Amanda Sellen at IKI; Brooke Ruston at Shine; and Julie Horvath, Sheridan Michels. Shelvin Garrett II
Congratulations to BMHS Alum Shelvin Garrett II!
He proudly represented UW-Whitewater and our City during the U.S. Olympic Trials on Friday, June 28, in Eugene, Oregon. Shelvin competed in the men's triple jump, showcasing his incredible talent and dedication to his sport. He was among 24 jumpers selected to compete in the triple jump.
Key Club - Birthday Boxes
Our Beloit Memorial High School Key Club concluded the year with a heartwarming initiative: creating 20 Birthday Boxes for donation to Caritas. Each box included everything needed to celebrate a birthday at home, ensuring everyone feels special on their birthday!
Stateline Spinners - Bike Rodeo at Aldrich
The Stateline Spinners hosted a Bike Rodeo/Safety Course at Aldrich Middle School. As part of the course, they led our students on their bikes through various obstacles and provided important tips and tricks for riding. Each student who participated in this incredible hands-on experience had their name entered into a random drawing to win one of four bikes.
Summer Food Program Featured on WMTV 15 News
Check out our Summer Meal Program featured on WMTV 15 News! Thank you to Brooklyn Andres for spending the morning with us and sharing all the #GoodThingsHappening. Our food program runs until August 1st. Children in our community who are 18 years of age and younger can enjoy free breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday.

George J. Kolak Building Dedication
We honored George J. Kolak with a dedication ceremony at the Kolak Education Center. His extended family gathered from across the country to join us in honoring his legacy, alongside members of the Board of Education, School District of Beloit staff, and cherished friends.
Beloit Daily News Features Class of 2024 Graduate Damiya Wiles
Damiya Wiles, a top 5% graduate of BMHS, shared how our BMHS Academies helped her discover her passion. Originally planning criminology studies at Sarah Lawrence College, she's now heading to Fisk University in Tennessee for social work.
