SEAS Faith Formation
October 6, 2023
A Note from Driskill's Desk
Happy October!
October is the month of the rosary! The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. We would like to personally invite you and your family to our SEAS Family Night on October 11th from 6pm-7:30pm. We will begin with an Animated Rosary for Kids, followed by crafts and light snacks.
October 1st we celebrated 1 year of Children’s Church with mass and cupcakes afterwards. We have had 15,034 attend mass this past year! Wooo Hoo! The success of Children’s Church is because of three things, God, a great team(that includes all the behind the scenes people and parents who bring their kids to mass)and Father Conor being open!
We are in need help for mass…we need eucharistic ministers for our 10am children’s mass. Please let any of the coordinators know if you can help. If you need to go through training, please contact Ed Gordan at ed@seaschurch.com
Please check our seasyouthministry Instagram, St, Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Facebook, or any of the TV’s in the building for the most up to date information. The links for our social media are on the bottom of the newsletter.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Often during registration or as we start the year, we are asked "What is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?" I invite you to explore the following:
1) Visit the link below to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Association with a wondeful explanation and pictures of the CGS Approach -https://www.cgsusa.org/discover/cgs-approach/
2) Why do we call the classroom an Atrium and not a class? See attached Newsletter in both english and spanish called "Orientation to the Atrium."
Elementary Faith Formation
Our Elementary students started the school year off with a blast! Over the past month, we had a "space wall" hanging in one of the elementary hallways and asked students to share what they want to learn this school year.
Below are a few of the responses:
*Learn about the Mass
*I hope to learn about Jesus and God.
*I want to know why God made us.
*Prayers
*I want to learn about the saints.
*I hope to learn fun facts about the church!
Safe Environment
The safety of our students, families, volunteers, and staff is a top priority for our Faith Formation Ministry. It is important to us that parents feel comfortable and confident while their children attend classes at SEAS. We take several steps to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all.
Each of our volunteers and all of the staff are required to take Safe Environment Trainings. Our Good Shepherd and Elementary students must be picked up from their classroom to guarantee that they leave with a trusted adult. You will also notice that we have a police officer on site during each class session.
To help with safety measures, we ask that parents read the below handbook provided my the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
