Our last two Community Blocks have involved class and grade level groups focusing on cooperation, working together, and sportsmanship. The picture below shows Ms. Salzseider's class engaged in a challenge where students were asked to form groups according to colored dot stickers secretly placed on their foreheads-- all without talking! It was impressive and fun to see students cooperatively succeed in this activity using teamwork, nonverbal signals, and creative gestures.
On Wednesday, October 18th, all Peirce students will participate in safety drills, including a fire drill, shelter in place, lockdown, and evacuation. The walk to our emergency site, the Neighborhood Club, will be supported by school resource officers, especially at street crossings. Prior to Safety Day, students will preview all drills with their classroom teachers, who will use kid-friendly language and age-appropriate information. At all times, students will be reminded that Safety Day is for practice. Please note that this is a yearly event that has been planned since the start of the school year; it is not a response to recents events or any specific threats.

Mystery Dinner is Peirce's largest fundraiser and a fun way for the adults in the community to enjoy an evening of socializing, food, and drink. The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 6PM
at The Neighborhood Club, then guests attend randomly selected small dinner parties. The night is capped off with everyone coming together for an end-of-the-night party at the dessert house.
The suggested donation is $75 per person. Donations above $75/person are graciously accepted and help fund the Creative Arts & Sciences program and other educational enrichment for our kids.

I have a varied job! I provide counseling support to individual students and groups of students. I also evaluate students to help better understand their learning profiles and identify learning disabilities. I work with teachers and parents to help support students and help them do their best learning. I have a stuffed pig named Bob who lives in my office and loves to visit classrooms on Fridays!
